  4. honestly it wasn’t even that bad but the cardboard made to look like metal came off SUPER awful on tv. The camera work at the end did them no favors.

otherwise match was fun as hell

  5. MJF goes over every single time lol

Fun match overall but the ending was meh and that Jericho bump onto the cardboard looked goofy.

Oh shit, Vice picking them up makes me think we could actually get something like a Lucha Underground promotion back. For what WWE spends running a weekly program that absolutely blows, someone has to be able to make something that would transcend into other audiences.

  8. I thought the blood and guts match was average at best - a match I won’t even remember by next month

    weird booking terrible production etc

Feel like AEW is having a hard time pulling off those big closing moments. Exploding ring and now this cardboard stage both put kinda sour notes on otherwise solid matches

At what point does aew hire a better special effects guy? Sheesh

I’m surprised jericho even agreed to that spot

Remember when rikishi got pushed off a cage through a stack of tables on top of a truck? Why not do something like that?

Other than the finish a lot of stuff seemed to go wrong in that match. It started early and it felt like they were obviously rushing through it, then they finished too quickly and were just slowly eating time until the finish. Why did the white wrestlers have to randomly put their fist in the air and why did it happen so many times during that match? I don’t understand. It felt like the inner circle basically dominated the entire match until the very end. I know the name of the event is such but it felt like they just randomly were making wrestlers bleed in a lame and generic way. I know in the modern age of wrestling heels vs heels shouldn’t be a big issue but it definitely just didn’t work. Oh well, at least mjf will get a new shirt that will probably sell out now lol

It’s definitely not heels vs heels. Inner circle is pretty clearly the babyfaces in this feud. Also I don’t think rikishi was 50 years old when he took that bump. I’m surprised Jericho is taking any bump from the top of the cage at 50.

The inner circle were definitely heels, especially with the way they acted toward the end of the match. If they weren’t heels, they just did a really shitty job at trying to be faces. I know wrestling marks want to act like aew can’t make mistakes but they have very lackluster performances sometimes. That being said, those lackluster matches are still much better than almost all of the wwe stuff. In regards to the cage stuff, then someone else should’ve just taken the bump so it didn’t look so corny. I like most aew stuff, I just didn’t like this match. Between the pacing and the finish, it was just bleh. This has been old man yells at cloud lol

I can't believe OC is actually two wins away from being champion. I just don't know how my body could handle that if it actually happens.

They should’ve just done what wwe does and just put the black sheet over the stage. Doesn’t matter what the surface is supposed to be, a fall from that height will look painful. I don’t think you had to show it was “steel”

I don't know my dude, the reactions the inner circle have been getting are pretty much all cheers unless I've not been paying attention.

I don't think this (to me at least) is a case of defending AEW just to defend them. The ending sucked. The match was very solid (back half wasn't as good as the front half, IMO) and that's impressive because it's a feud that I think is the drizzly shits. I want MJF away from Jericho, it feels like they've been in some decade long storyline and it's not entertaining. But the moment they intro'd the wrestlers for that main event, the atmosphere they created themselves with how chaotic (and sloppy) that match was. It felt like a fight and not a spot fest like War Games (which isn't a shot at war games, just they worked a different style of cage match last night).

  19. I definitely think BD will re-sign. And honestly just wrestle whoever he wants to in the company. Including NXT

I liked the booking, got the Inner Circle over as faces who were more concerned about the well-being of their leader than whether they lost the match, and reaffirmed MJF as an asshole. Only issue was Jericho landing in a pit of foam. If you want to do that spot, build the stage a little higher so that he falls deep enough where his landing isn't visible, then have a camera pan in to see the aftermath.

I really enjoyed the match, ending was a little off due to the crash pad being noticeable, but I mean, still a 50 year old dude falling into there.

The real interesting thing to me now is where it goes with Sammy. Not only did he go in first, not only did he give a fight, but he was the one who surrendered. So it strikes me that he'd want MJF's head on a pike now.
