I’ve never listened to their previous albums. I’ll see my way out, thanks!

The instrumental parts of Inaudible sound like Clairaudients by Bright Eyes.

Got my hardcover book today. Not sure how well the spine will hold up but the art is top notch.

Side note, is Andy's commentary on the tracks that's up on Spotify worth getting Spotify for? I have Apple Music, but I'm curious what he has to say.

Its more writing and recording commentary than story/narrative. Not sure if that sways you.

After my second listen, I think I'm starting to like this. I wasn't too impressed on my first listen, but I think I just expected more faster tracks and I've exhausted slow tempo albums after listening to the new Hayley Williams album on repeat for months. Though, after almost a week of putting it down after the first listen and going into it with the mindset of what it /is/ and not what I /want/, I enjoyed it! Keel Timing finally clicked with me and I was really immersed during Angel of Death and Dinosaur. In fact, I remember being super disappointed in The Internet but was blown back by it this time around. Hopefully on repeat listens the entire thing sticks with me! When one has a lot of expectations for an album, it's hard to be able to seperate all the preconcieved imaginings of what the album is going to sound like from anticipation to listening to the actual end product, so I still need to unravel and unlearn those expectations as I unpack what we got. I can tell it's something amazing, I'm just not at the point of basking in it yet, if that makes any sense.

Though, I really do have to echo the earlier sentiments on how... odd... Inaudible is. Someone stated that it should've been shorter and I could not agree more; it feels like they wanted to repurposeThe Maze again but needed to increase the track time to distinguish it from the previous opener. Though, again, maybe time will treat it well!

Inaudible feels like the song equivalent of the thing a good movie or TV show will do sometimes when they start with an opening scene that is from the middle of the story and you have no idea what's going on.

That last line really sits with me. I love how it applies to so many facets of religion and life in general. I grew up with a very devout religious family, went through some traumatic events that changed all of that, became very angry about it when I started working through a lot of it in college and held on to that anger for a very long time, and now have begun settling into a comfortable middle ground as I begin coming out the other end of deconstruction where I see the value in faith and the value in the loss. Wherever you land in the end, whether you are devout and/or pious, angry and resentful, or somewhere in the middle:

    All this time

It's like, 3 sentences per track. I don't mind typing them out if people are interested.

Is there anyway a listener can change things on their end to correct for the poor production of COPE ? Thinking specifically about playing around with the equalizer settings of a stereo or app.
