One thing to think of while watching Cult that distracted me so bad - does anyone have access to a comb or hairbrush in this psych ward???

Freaky is such a fun movie, a friend got to me to watch it and I was surprised that I didn’t watch it sooner. A solid horror comedy.

 

This sounds great but I also think it's hilarious that his MO is just taking plots form beloved movies that already exist and turning them into teen horror films

 

highly in favor of it. give the new generation their formative teen horror movies that are also good.

 

Yes....agreed. It feels like such a throwback to the fun 80s and 90s stuff. My formative teen movie was Saw....dark af.

 

I feel like I'm the only person who didn't care for Freaky. lol

It's about time I rewatch In the Mouth of Madness and Prince of Darkness (the dream sequence in that one is terrifying)

 

After compiling a list from in search of darkness part II, we’re watching Pieces tonight

 

Watching Hellraiser. I know this films got a pretty specific target market, but I’d love to see this play out in modern times with talent behind it.

 

As long as they keep the sexual/taboo element present, I’m in. That’s the one thing that keeps it from becoming a schlocky haunted house/evil magic movie imo.

 

Exactly..that’s what makes it so niche. Wide audiences wouldn’t really eat that up, but I’m sure it would do pretty well on streaming services.

 

I wasn’t expecting anything less from Henenlotter but Frankenhooker is total bonkos trash and I loved every second of it.

 

I dunno, 50 Shades of Grey made money so it’s possible for sexualized stuff to do well

 

I just rewatched Predator for the first time in a handful of years. The Predator’s laugh is as scary as the lady in 237 and, no, I won’t be taking questions.

I'm honestly loving the shift in the last however many years in which more intelligent, talented, and in-demand people are pursuing horror related projects, obviously just so good for the genre as a whole
