The new mixes are an improvement on the old ones. Still not perfect or as clean as the newer stuff they've done but better.

That said, The Strokes is a good band and Dogleg is a good band. I'm happy that Dogleg went away from that sound.

Very weird and I won’t quote it or anything, but he did use those words “aggressively mediocre” in a post like…5 months ago? Still, if that’s what this is about, very strange for the band to bring it up and even weirder that some random Twitter user dug it up.

 

I see where that was said in the emo thread but I don’t think they were singling out @Leftandleaving with that tweet. I could see that if it had anything to do with that post it’s that topshelf records dude liked it.

agreeing is the key word there. By Topshelf liking that post they are agreeing with that statement.

 

This is weird, everybody! I just thought it was funny that chorus got namedropped. Didn’t mean to turn this into detective work!

It's rather odd that dogleg just now found the post to me.

 

I get where he is coming from but also this is a music forum where lots of different opinions are posted. I don’t know if saying these people can’t have certain opinions or get a bit outraged over them is a fair thing to say.

I mean like I absolutely understand the sentiment of putting your heart into something and being disappointed when it is called "mediocre." But like... they got BNM, you know? Wouldn't that outweigh a single negative post on a relatively small forum?

i get it but also, like, they should kind of be above looking up posts on a forum haha. they were one of the most celebrated bands of the last year. literally every band has someone out there that thinks they’re mediocre.
