The macho dude in Saw II fucking sucks

 

you better believe I bought Seal's album after finding his hit single "Kiss from a Rose" in the film Batman Forever

 

That song is a all-time banger

 

Goddamn, the syringe pit in Saw II still makes me uncomfortable, that’s just such a disturbing concept

 

Likely my favorite Cronenberg and a top 10 film for me in all honesty

I found out about two of the greatest rock bands in history, Nickelback and Saliva, thanks to the Spider-man soundtrack.

 

I used to fuck with Hero

 

I was vindicated by the spiderman2 soundtrack

 

first Spiderman soundtrack was definitely huge for me

My fiance told me to start making the playlist for our wedding and so far the only song I have on there is "Hero". I did it as a joke but it's staying

 

Every wedding needs a smoke break/refreshment song. Solid choice.

 

Child's Play 2 is so good. Definitely more of a straightforward slasher, but it's fun, well-paced, and the third act in the toy factory is absolutely next level. There's even a Shining homage when they're running through the maze of dolls that I never caught until now. Great stuff.

 

and then there's Child's Play 3, one of the worst movies I've ever seen

 

I never listened to movie soundtracks growing. Although, I did listen to wrestling comps lmao

the eye replacement scene has been ingrained in my head since I was four.

 

Definitely the series slump iirc

 

Watched Saw III last night, def one of my favorites in the series. The theme of obsession is a strong one, Amanda is obsessed with carrying on Jigsaw’s legacy, despite ignoring his principles and desiring more to just flat out hurt people instead. Jeff is obsessed with hurting those who took away his son and justice for his son, to the point where it fully consumes him years after the event at the expense of people around him. His arc is one of the best in the series, it shows us how we can hurt people by not letting go and how revenge isn’t an answer, we can hurt those wronged us but it won’t bring back what was taken from us. It only leads to our self-destruction. Obsession becomes both of Amanda’s and Jeff’s undoing and ultimately, this movie is a fantastic character study.

Now as far as traps go, the pig carcass one is just flat out disgusting in concept and to watch. The Rack is just brutal and probably one of the gnarliest traps in the whole series, just pure medieval brutality. The end is also one of the best twists if not the darkest imo. Overall, great movie.

 

The Evil Dead episode of Creepshow was incredible lol

 

I loved it. I never knew I needed Bob Ross fighting deadites.

 

Oh yeah, time to binge that now that the whole season is out

I don’t know what I expected

 

I'm still not sure how I feel about The Brood. I loved the first kill and the school room scene, but don't have strong feelings one way or the other about the rest. I just don't think Cronenberg is for me. Still going to watch Scanners when Gourley and Rust cover it though.

Currently trying to go through all the Carpenter's I haven't seen. Watching Village of the Damned right. I think I have about 7 more to go and they're mostly stinkers, should be fun.
