There's like several jokes about actresses in Stab having to sleep with the director or producer in order to get their roles, plus a joke from Carrie Fischer(!) about having to sleep with George Lucas, PLUS the whole producer having a party where he and others r*ped Sidney's mom, resulting in the birth of her brother

Plus a Creed poster in Sidney's recreated room on-set!

it’s honestly incredible. The last 5 min kinda ruin it a bit for me but the film as a whole is great. Some gross gore too!

 

Got to mention Dracula 2000

 

Jeffery Combs is gonna be on TLDI this week so now with that information + the clues, I'm guessing Bride of Re-Animator will be one of the movies.

 

13 Ghosts tho

 

13 Ghosts is a fantastic 00’s movie, cool premise, great VFX, and you got my man Matthew Lillard

 

Lillard is a little weird now. Gets quite over eccentric at horror conventions and pleads for work at them and on Twitter. It’s almost like he has a chip on his shoulder that he didn’t get the work he feels he deserves from Hollywood. I love everything he was in around that era though, from Scream to Scoob to 13 Ghosts.

He did get screwed out of being Shaggy so I kinda feel for him there

 

Started my Saw series rewatch since Spiral is coming out, starting with the OG. I was surprised by how well it held up, it has plenty of 00’s horror tropes throughout and you can tell how much they were restricted by the budget but it’s still a very creative, clever movie. Also, I find myself siding with Jigsaw a little bit on the concept of being appreciative that you’re alive, I think we all tend to forget that with the stresses and trouble in life and while very extreme in his actions, he’s not fully wrong on that.

 

I’ve definitely noticed that Lillard tries to steal the show at the convention, but I don’t know, he still seems genuine…his personality just feels huge.

 

Side note…I may protest if Scream 5 makes no mention of the Macher family.

 

Scream 4 wasn't doing it for me, honestly thought it was kind of unlikable at first but the third act was SO GOOD. That last 40 minutes or so may have put it above the third for me. What a fun, solid franchise, even if there is a but of diminishing returns. So glad I revisited it.

Child's Play is next.

 

Which one? Original or remake?

 

Neither! Only because I just rewatched the remake (which I love) and I've seen the original so many times. Going to run Child's Play 2 through Cult of Chucky.

 

The Devils leaves SHudder tomorrow so I threw it on last night but got about halfway through before I started nodding off. It's slow and it's old but I intend to finish it tonight.

 

There were some many random collaborations and covers on late 90s/early 00s soundtracks. The Faculty was a fun one.

 

I miss companion soundtracks for movies, I got into so many artists through those. Like I remember falling in love with Smashing Pumpkins because of their song on the Batman and Robin soundtrack.

 

I started getting into punk rock music thanks to the Bio-Dome soundtrack, haha, but really.

 

That needs to make a comeback imo, imagine all the soundtracks for movies nowadays
