Unlocking my phone while wearing a mask

 

I was excited about the addition of the "Made For You" category in Apple Music since I've been meaning to try to use those playlists for music discovery more often, but seems like it's bugged out for me. When I go to edit the list that appears on the main Library page the option to include it is there, but even when selected it won't appear once I exit the editor. Weird.

 

That happened to me at first but it eventually actually showed up.

 

So does 14.5 only make it so you can unlock your phone with your watch or does it also work logging you in to apps that use Face ID? Cause if it’s the latter it’s definitely not working for me lol

Can someone explain a scenario where I'd... need to unlock my phone with my watch?

 

I set my phone to mono to record a Skype call once and forgot to change it back for almost an entire year. When it realized and turned it off, it was like I had never heard music before!

you’re out and about wearing a mask and wanna check your phone without pulling it down. If your watch is on and unlocked, and you’ve allowed it in the settings of your phone, and your phone Hs Face ID, you now don’t need to pull down your mask or enter your passcode. It’ll just unlock because it detects that you’re wearing a mask.

 

So now I need my watch for my phone to unlock with my mask on?

 

No, without the setting turned on, it’ll keep defaulting to the passcode as it always has. It’s just an additional option for users now.

Finally set up Watch unlock and it’s such a nice little feature. Going to make checking my shopping list at the store a lot less cumbersome.

 

Anyone know what time iPad Pro preorders are likely to go live on the 30th? So far I've only seen a date listed, not a time

Loving the Apple Watch mask unlock. Makes my life easier at work.

On the flip side (and this is a minor complaint), the subtle changes in the Apple Music UI on 14.5 seem to make things less convenient. Hiding the “+” button for adding music to your library feels like a weird choice. It was way more useful to have +/cloud/no icon compared to the new system of downloaded/no icon.

 

does any one know how to do this so I can add music to my phone? I can't figure it out where this setting is at at all.

 

Engraved airtags are coming tomorrow surprisingly. Didn’t think engraved ones were shipping until mid May.

 

in my experience apple always overdelivers on delivery, i've had orders come WEEKS in advance of the advised ETA from order.

 

Got my airtag and leather loop coming for tomorrow. Kinda wish I had gotten the leather ring now instead haha
