Watched Scream 2 last night and there is some straight-up nonsense that happens in that movie but it is still prime 90s horror, and expertly paced at two hours(!) for a whodunit slasher. The scenes referencing sequels throughout were awesome, the soundproof Aliens attack in particular. It's a little too silly to touch the first film, but otherwise, just a blast to watch. That cast works so well together. Excited to rewatch 3 and 4 this week, because I remember next to nothing about them.

Scream 2 is probably my favorite sequel of all time, but yea it def has some nonsense..

Ghostface sneaks into SMGs sorority house and literally disappears into the wall to the right.

I love and adore the first 3. The 4th I like, but do not adore.

Scream 4 has aged better than expected. I think there were a ton of missed opportunities, but still enjoyable overall. Something always draws me to the OG and it’s rawness. The kitchen scene was just so heavy…the tone, the score, the content..it was the perfect combo.

3 has one of the worst twists I’ve ever seen

  9. I know it's 20 years old but do me a personal favor and give me until Thursday before re-spoiling 3 or 4 lol

3 has charm, but that’s all. It remains the stinker of the bunch.

That’s fair lol. Now that I think about it, I genuinely don’t remember much else about it

3 very much feels like it belongs with 1 and 2 though. 4, while fully enjoyable, feels a bit contrived to me. But I loved the cast and the very obvious Wes Craven horror humor he mastered in that franchise.

  13. 3 is def comfort food in the same vein as the second film, but boy are the Weinstein in-jokes and plotline not good!

  14. It does have the funniest line of any of the movies though.

"Detective, you don't think there's a chance the murder was related to film, do you?"
"The movie is called Stab...he was stabbed."

Watched Psycho 2 for the first time tonight and it actually kinda ruled?! I was expecting way worse out of it, and always kinda assumed it was just cashing in on the slasher boom of the 80s

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

It is a way better sequel than it had any right to be and to be honest in some ways I prefer it to the original.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

3 is 100% the worst Scream but it's still good enough to make you want to like it

    What are the Weinstein in-jokes?

I don’t know why, but one of my favorite parts of 3 is always when Tyson yells “Oh! you motherf***er!” while he’s trying to get out and looks back to see the killer.

Also, who could NOT love Scream 3's original motion picture soundtrack feat. Creed...not once, but twice?!

the actual tracks on scream 2 soundtrack. Late 90s - Early 2000 horror soundtracks so amazing, an era never to be replicated again unfortunately

Edit: (I'm baked and cant read lol my point still stands)

  22. I bought the Scream 2 soundtrack back in the day just because it had an unreleased Everclear song on it.
