I'm a big Wyze fan. I wanted to get into Nest and the such, but can't bring myself to not love Wyze.

Trying to do this color balance update through my Apple TV and having no luck putting my phone up to the screen

  6. I just did it - I put my phone basically right against the screen

worked like a charm and I really can tell the difference

I’ve tried from multiple distances and still not working. Did you have a darkened room when you did it?

  8. Not really but the phone needs to be basically an inch away from the tv

Did the Color Balance calibration on my Apple TV, and the difference was much more than I expected. Definitely much more to my liking now.

Also, TV settings are so fucking overwhelming by comparison to this tool.

Anybody have any issues with the update taking a long time? It made activating phones at work take forever today

  12. Watch unlock! Love it.

Do we know if this will apply to using Face ID for Apple Pay? I really hope so but I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t.

  14. I haven’t tried that yet. But I usually use Apple Pay on my watch I’ve found.

Ah ok, I had to get a new watch and never reactivated it so I’ll give that a go!

Was just going to look into the Wyze cams. Do they have a workaround for Homekit as well? Got a Logitech circle years ago and would 100% not spend the money on one again with how cheap some of those Wyze cameras are.

    POSSIBLY CONTROVERSIAL TAKE

The revised Podcasts app is...good, actually.

(also, Reminders is a lot more useable than I remembered?)

So I don't subscribe to any pods. I just get on daily and go through the library and download whichever of the episodes look good to me. So the update removed everything from my library since i wasn't "subscribed". Now i have to go through and try to remember what I checked out daily. Otherwise looks good.

  22. There's the EASY way, then the "free" way I went which was more complicated than I had anticipated yet not as time consuming in that everything kinda worked as the tutorial stated so I had no issues.

We have a Plex server running at all times and that's what you need - a system constantly up to handle the bridge operation. Unfortunately I built my Plex server on a windows 10 home edition computer I bought for like $100 from amazon. Windows 10 home edition has some limitation on running the node.js stuff SO I had to install virtual box and boot a virtual lightweight linux distro from there to run all the home bridge stuff. They provided all the terminal commands to run in the order they needed to be run and it all just worked. I was very surprised. I fully expected every step if the way for terminal to yell at me that the command was unknown or something. So far so good just a few days in!

Oh awesome, thank you! This seems way easier than I imagined. I've been eyeing these cameras up for years and finally going to order a few for when we go away later this year to keep an eye on our pups.

Infinitely love my Wyze cams. Absolutely zero complaints and wish they would go public so I could buy stock.
