Started playing Control today. Really enjoying it so far.

 

I definitely don’t think it deserves more than either of those tbh but good for em

I think it was IGNs game of the year that year and that got pretty mixed reactions from staff and fans alike. I think that year was really bizarre/lackluster for amazing games.

 

Yeah I remember the year DA:I came out it was easily my GOTY because nothing else really stood out.

 

I guess that’s really the only one that stands out. The rest were pretty critically acclaimed. I’m surprised some of those didn’t have more awards than they ended up with.

Specifically BOTW and Skyrim. Since they seem universally adored by most people (I’m not most sorry y’all)

 

Pre-ordered Returnal. I think it looks really good and I'm excited to see an actual PS5 game use the Triggers

I started playing a week or so ago, almost done with it. Have NO idea what is going on really LOL, but I’m enjoying it.

So not sure what to play next... thinking of Nier Replicant, played the original on PS3 but never finished it, and always wanted to try Automata but never did because I never finished the original. Or I’m thinking Returnal... no idea.

 

Of all those I've only played Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Inquisition haha

 

As time goes by there are just more and more publications doling out 'awards'

 

23 million active users on GamePass! Also, MLB is the top PAID game on Xbox.

 

Seeing the PS logo when booting it up on an Xbox is wild lol

 

I’m about an hour and a half in and also have no clue what’s going on, but I’m enjoying the gameplay and set pieces haha

 

Didn’t know Returnal uses the adaptive triggers, and now I’m even more hyped.

Control is very fun and also uses the triggers very well.

 

Okay so I'm like half an hour into chapter two of REvelations 2 and I'm just not feeling it, I mean, I'm not in the right headspace for this genre anymore right now. So, putting this on hold--again--I think I might actually try Automata on Gamepass. First month for just a dollar is such a sweet deal.

 

Oh, We Happy Few is on here? Has anyone played that? I loved Contrast, but it was much smaller. The reviews during beta were not very good iirc.

 

It is interesting to me that people still buy games day one. $70 for a game that you may or may not like just blows my mind. Look at the rollout with Cyberpunk and how awful that was. Since Game Pass rolled out I haven't paid for a game outright and if I wanted a game I just redeem my quest points and get it. I truly hope this is something that Sony decides to adopt in the future. Plus, there is so much to play on there I can hold out and if it lands in Game Pass its even better!

 

We Happy Few is good. If you are into survival games it's a ton of fun. Contrast is great as well.
