The Conjuring universe peaked with Annabelle: Creation, and that’s all I have to say about that. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk

  2. Think I'm gonna do Boys From County Hell tonight!

  4. Will do! Just debating on what I want to pair it with - Climax, Puppet Master 2, or Critters 3 haha.

I can only speak to Climax out of those three but whew it was exhausting in the most stressful way.

So it’s not called Conjuring 3? Or is it another spin off? I loved the first 1, and 2 had some interesting ideas. It’s coming to Max so I’m definitely gonna watch it.

It is The Conjuring 3, they just didn't use that as the title but rather added a subtitle. This continues Ed and Lorraine's story.

Apparently the story that this one is based on is quite controversial. A landmark of sorts, being the first time a court case has hinged upon demonic possession being the plead, but holy moly I've already seen people coming out of the woodwork who apparently lived in the area where it took place and have a lot of things to say about what they really think happened

gonna deep dive on this now.

  11. I'm glad that I finally saw Audition. Masterful, genre-bending stuff. Terrifying.

  12. Okay, some updates on what I watched in the past couple days.

Climax gave me a nightmare, the first time that's happened in years. That, combined with the fact that I was still thinking about it the day after, is a pretty good sign

Boys From County Hell lacked a bit in scares AND comedy, but all in all, it's a pleasant watch.

Class of 1984 (not exactly horror) was all over the place. I literally gave it points for the classroom hostage scene, deducted those points for the r*pe scene, and then gave them back for the anti-police ending lol. Wild film, but worth it if you can handle it for exploitation fans.

I liked hearing JBB’s interpretation of the second half. Agreed fully though, it’s on a different level.

Put Jason Goes to Hell as a comfort movie/background noise. I don’t know why I never noticed the morgue is in Youngstown, OH.

    I live in Youngstown. :crylaugh:

So do we think Halloween Kills is going to be pushed back again, or do we see it heading down the streaming path?...because I need this goddamn movie.

Pretty sure Jason Blum said it’s coming out regardless this year whether it’s in theaters or streaming. Theaters are opening and capacities will be close to full if not full in October.

Yeah we’re 100% going to get Halloween Kills this October. The question is whether we see it in theaters or on a streaming service.

  19. Only horror adjacent, but I'd like to retract what I said about not being a De Palma guy because Blow Out was fucking amazing

Thanks..I hadn’t heard that before. Honestly, Halloween’s one I’d prefer watching in the silence of my own home.

The “asshole” scene is seriously one of the the most outrageous/hilarious things I’ve ever seen.

I went and visited the Stanley Hotel yesterday on a mini road trip into the mountains with my friend. Surreal views, no doubt I get where King’s inspiration came from. I wish I’d had the time to tour the inside.

I've been wanting to get up there for a Murder by Death show, but their prices are a bit much. Huge investment for a concert too. lol Seems like so much fun tho.
