City and Chelsea are the two big rumoured ones. Makes sense that City might be regretting it. They've pumped so much money into making City this big brand, building all that new training and support stuff for the club and have been gunning for the CL the whole time. Jumping ship to a new, made up competition and never getting the CL win seems a strange move.

Also, unsure how it fits with all the sports washing kind of stuff if they just sod off into the pit of negativity that this thing is becoming.

 

So despite everything that has happened in the past couple of days, Paul Lambert is still the most delusional man in football.

With City & Chelsea supposedly wanting to go back on all this, could it be that there is a very real risk of them being expelled from the CL soon and are just trying to save that? They have been involved in talks for a super league for years so clearly that shows they have a clear interest in it? People on twitter already gassing them up as potential saviours, it's like, "hold on " lol

Also saw someone claim that the only reason PSG haven't signed up yet is so that they don't get kicked out of the CL too! Lol

Seen a lot of people saying PSG is related to the Qatar World Cup, which makes a lot of sense. I'm sure if they joined the ESL, FIFA would make it their business to move it somewhere else. There's also Champions League broadcast rights that they own via Bein. They probably stand to lose more than they'd gain by joining.

 

How exactly are they being hung out to dry? lmao.

 

Also this ESL supposedly introduces a salary cap and that PSG are very much against that.

Apparently Napoli have contacted the Super League to try join.

Yeah it reads as Stone getting info from one of the ones staying, leaking to try and look United, and Wickham getting info from the teetering club.

 

Wasn't it because if they'd stayed in UEFA they would have been locked into the new Champions League format?

I really think it's just that even if they expected backlash they didn't expect it to be on this level.
