Never signed up for Shudder, is it worth checking out? If so, any recommendations?

It’s a steal for the price.

  3. I love it, and it should be relatively easy to find free trial codes online. Host was really impressive and popular during quarantine. I adore The Last Drive In as a weekend ritual. There's also a lot of Fulci films and other giallos on there right now. I think there's something for everything, and their originals have a better hit rate than other streaming services imo!

Thanks, I’ll have to check those two out. I found a trial for half off for six months and decided to take the plunge since it’s only 3 bucks a month.

Would also recommend checking out AMC+ when the trial runs out of you wanna keep Shudder. It’s $9 a month and you get AMC, Shudder, Sundance, and IFC

Did Dredd (not outright horror but still pretty gory), and The Dentist 1 and 2 this weekend. I actually kinda loved Dredd as a mindless action film and mainly went to it cause of Alex Garland's screenplay. The Dentist movies are classic 90's great and I can finally check another movie off the list of "movie covers that stuck with me as a kid" being The Dentist 2.

If you loved Dredd and haven't seen The Raid: Redemption, get on that. They basically work the same idea with different approaches to the action. Both fucking bangers.

I've not seen any of The Raid movies but I have always heard this very thing especially regarding a few really awesome fight sequences in particular. I also knew I recognized Gareth Evans from somewhere too and it was because I loved Apostle.

The choreography is unreal. I'm tempted to just post some of the fight scenes but I don't want to spoil anything or bog down a horror thread lol.

Dredd is fucking GROSS and I love it so much. Karl Urban crushes it.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

watched Night of the Living Dead for the first time in ages. still so good, especially the first and last acts, directing and editing quality is unreal. the middle act when all those annoying ass characters come out of the cellar is tough to love though

Both are amazing but I believe I love the 1990 Tony Todd remake more.

Terror Train was kinda cool. I love slashers and this one was weird enough to set itself apart from the pack. I am enjoying hearing Gourley and Rust discuss it.

Ok I’m doing a shameless plug and I don’t CARE WHO KNOWS IT.

Some friends and I have started a hybrid horror / Brendan Fraser podcast, where we take a Fraser film, pair it with a horror film released that same year, and see if his character would survive. If that sounds fun for you, please check us out! We’re just having a fun time and I know the quality isn’t the best but we’re getting better!

I’m so glad I finally caught MA. A movie like that would have fallen flat if it wasn’t for great acting and everyone brought it. I appreciate that the movie wasn’t afraid to go dark with its themes.
