    It's all hell.

I do feel like the managers are being hung out to dry on this - they're going to be in a really difficult situation at the next press conferences.

Yeah. This is 100% going to be the case. Which, it is what it is, but the average American fan DOES NOT WANT THIS.

Also, the same bots that helped Trump, Bolsonaro, Boris, etc. get elected on Twitter are in full force in responding to tweets about this... which about sums it up.

I'm happy to blame Americans for most things to be fair.

Tuchel doing the first(?) press conference of a Super League club in a couple of minutes will be curious to see what (if anything) he says about it.

I'm really curious what Klopp has to say about it. Would be great if he publicly opposes the Super League. With his standing he certainly does not have to fear of losing his job if he speaks out.

Tuchel basically gave non-answers about it and said he trusts his club to make the right decisions and that it's too early to judge

There's just no way in hell that they have the actual right to do this. I know they're doing this to put pressure on players to put pressure on clubs, but no court is going to rule against the employee in this way. What rule are they breaking (ie red card bans, etc)? "Working their signed contract?" Ain't no court enforcing that.

Tuchel is the least likely to speak out about it anyway. Holds basically no sway given he was only hired a few weeks ago.

Pep is probably the most bullet proof at the minute, but even then he's publicly backed Qatar and is in business with City's chiefs, so no chance he says anything.

Klopp could do, but I'd still expect a bunch of non answers.

I can only imagine it's not going to be an official "ban", but more of an "agreement" with the local FAs that these players just won't be called up while members of the Super League? The FAs allegedly hate this just as much as UEFA, so I could see them going along with that. I feel like you could easily just sidestep the lack of inclusions, "oh well they're not playing in the best competitions, so it's hard to justify them" etc. and that probably doesn't break any rules or anything? Hard to say I suppose.

English rugby union already has a rule in place stating that players playing outside the domestic league won't be considered for national selection. Imagine it would just be similar for players playing in the ESL.

England is willing to not call up their entire first choice starting XI for the World Cup because of what those players' employers decided? See how it starts to break down very quickly?

Sure, it's a bit of a madness, I almost don't believe it would even happen that way, and I don't have that much faith in the FA, but at the same time, if they truly believe this is so damaging for football as a whole, what else can they do? They have to take a stand, and this puts pressure on the players to seek moves out of the Super League, which then makes the Super League less attractive, and these clubs start to suffer as a result.

I guess we'll see what happens, and obviously they could just go for a hard ban and hope they win in court, but they have to do something I guess?

Cancelo sharing Podence's post on Instagram now too. Seems like the players are starting to speak out a little.
