I was trying to describe myself to someone

The Premier League are probably in a slightly weird state with it though. I think (may be wrong) the majority of the big money television deals come from the UK itself. We've got by far the best supported top division and even our Championship clubs have larger fan bases and attendance than most European top divisions. They'd definitely lose a big chunk of the pie by letting go of the 6 turncoats, but I think they'd still have a viable product.

Think it's going to depend a lot on the fanbases at those clubs too. If large proportions throw in the towel, the new Euro league's bottom line might well take a pounding. I expect the new league will be propped up with investors to start with, but I wonder how much they can really entice people to support it when there's no history or prestige to it at all.

If it goes ahead, I really hope people vote with their wallets and stick to their domestic games and FIFA/UEFA sanctioned stuff. Not that I have much hope of that.

So what’s the fucking point of the rest of the season now? City have the league wrapped up and we obviously don’t care about Champions League or the Europa League?

I think a large part of it is a gamble by the club's that they can abandon their relatively small local or national supporter base with the hope that fans around the world won't care. Will United fans in China or India or America care that they're not playing Burnley anymore? The gamble is these people won't care about the competition, they'll just look forward to United v Barca or United v Juve instead and keep watching.

As much as Sky and BT were taking a hard stance against it yesterday, I bet they'd be first in line for the broadcast rights too.

United being the ring leaders is sickening. Even when it's abandoned and the club's all come crawling back, they'll forever be tarnished with being the ones that tried to organise it.

Chelsea and City are already playing the "we were backed into a corner" card. United are the fucking major players behind it.

The Glazers weren’t content with ruining one club now they’re trying to ruin them all.

    Legacy fans, fucking hell.

I have to admit some of the banter re: Arsenal and Spurs is funny but we’re getting off very lightly considering we’ve been shit for years and are one of the clubs behind the whole thing.

  16. The Athletic put up an article this morning that is a really thorough breakdown of everything. One thing that stood out to me was a blurb about Tottenham’s involvement. Some believe ENIC are eager to join because they want to sell and this will increase their price tag. So fucking lame.

I wonder what some of the players of these clubs think about this. Isn't TAA from Liverpool?

For a split second I did believe that there would be teams that reluctantly joined up through fear that they would be "left behind" so to speak, then I came to my senses and realised there's absolutely no chance that's true lol.

I say we let Newcastle sack Bruce, and then immediately make them hire Jose for maximum banter.
