Probably gonna put half into bitcoin as a savings account cause high interest savings accounts are paying nothing and I get 6% on Bitcoin. The rest into boring index funds in my Roth IRA

 

My nephew has been saving money (he's 3) and my brother-in-law took the like, $30 he had and invested it all in doge a few months ago. I thought it was kinda stupid at the time but now he's probably quadrupled that lol

 

So what’s the strategy with Doge if it blows up on 4/20? Should we sell if it hits a dollar? Or assume hitting a dollar gives it a booster rocket as everyone rushes to get in thinking it’s the next big crypto?

I panic sold when it started tanking hard after that initial rise a few days ago, but got back in after it showed some stability.

Now hodling so tight.

I don't really expect it to go much beyond a dollar but I'd love to be wrong. If it does reach a dollar tomorrow, my little $200 investment in January will net me $6k

 

YEah this is what I'm trying to figure out what to do if it rockets tomorrow. I'm trying to decide if I sell as soon as I see it hit a dollar, or if I hold because the internet will freak the eff out if it shoots up that far and end up having all the normies pour into it and send it taking off.

That'd be the difference between a couple thousand bucks and a new house for me lol

 

Forreal though, knowing I have most of the moeny I invested sitting in long term (at least a year+ probably) investments that should net me a few thousand bucks, even if doge tanks, the fun/anticipation of this has been worth it for me this last week (and I guess back during the first bubble too). I may come out down a few hundred, I may come out up a few hundred, I may come out up a few thousand, or I may secure a down payment for a new house lol. Gonna need to hit, like, $10-$15 for that though.

 

Also I think I brought this analogy up a few months ago, but dogecoin basically feels like coin collecting at this point, where the coin itself has no actual value (other than legal US tender, which is obviously an advantage real currency has here), but it's worth as much as what other people are willing to pay for it, and that actually creates its worth rather than any real function it has. So like...beanie babies? lol

 

At least with coin collecting a lot of the coins have silver or gold in them. The floor of value for a lot of coins is the melt value. Beanie Babies seems like a better analogy haha

 

I still have all my old beanie babies in a box somewhere, and first generation pokemon cards. maybe i'm sitting on a gold mine

Also, if I put a sell limit order in for, say, .20 cents....does that prevent me from selling tomorrow at any other point if I want to? Of course I run the danger it dips that low tonight and I lose out if it skyrockets tomorrow lol. But if I put in a sell limit of .20, and then tomorrow it hits $1 and I decide I want to sell it then, there's no conflict there right? the sell limit order would just disappear?

 

Damn now my brother-in-law is trying to get me in on the doge train lol. Asking me "do you know about #dogeday420???"

Ended up throwing money at Bitcoin and Etherium tonight. Was gonna do Doge instead, but I fear that it's not actually go much further than 40 cents, and probably crash hard in the coming weeks.
I'm gonna be kicking myself if I'm wrong, but will be great to see so many people profit!

 

I went into that Aphiria (sp?) weed stock and immediately went up a few bucks lol

Checked one last time before bed, gotta lol at the graph...the price spiked down like a cent and a half right at midnight. I guess someone cashed out to start the day lol.

I just realized I can’t do a stop limit order on crypto which is annoying AF. Would really love to set a floor and forget about it since I get bad service at work and prob won’t be able to check until lunch. Booo
