No Hostel love?! I love those movies.

 

I had such a bad experience seeing Hostel in a movie theatre with an ex and I think it kinda soured the film for me as a result. Although to be fair, I don't even know if I've given it a fair shake since.

 

Got a handful of movies that were ruined by the viewing experience as well so I feel that.

 

Problematic elements aside, I still enjoy Hostel and Cabin Fever.

 

Honestly not a Roth fan outside of Cabin Fever and The House With the Clock in Its Walls, and the former hasn't exactly aged well, so I wouldn't be too upset if he's just on to discuss film history/production.

 

Yea...I definitely appreciate his passion for the genre and I really enjoyed History of Horror.

 

Popular guesses on Twitter right now are Torso and House by the Cemetery. Someone also threw out Audition. The clues are that it's two films that have influenced Roth in a huge way and one of them was filmed 15 minutes from where he grew up.

I know it’s been beat to death, but I’m watching Evil Dead (13) and damn. There’s not much about this film that doesn’t work. The score by Roque Baños just crushes.

 

Still only one of a handful of movies to make me wince constantly.
