This whole conversation reminds me of the NFL replay process. Normally the call on the field (correct or not) is what has to be 'overturned'. I think if the ump called him out then the call also would have stood as called.

 

when the mets are on the shit end of the stick, i will complain for sure, but when there really does not seem to be enough evidence to overturn the call, i dont blame replay, i blame the official for making a boneheaded call. last night, replay failed. the umpire made the call he thought was correct, and in the moment with how Bohm's foot came as close as it appeared to to the plate, i almost don't blame him for making the call, but thats supposed to be what replay is there for, multiple views showed him clearly making no contact, and they still upheld the call, and like i said last night, part of me thinks it was upheld purposely so they could avoid extra innings.

 

he makes a really good point about the interpretation (for lack of a batter term) of the "clear an concise" evidence rule, like, if you're 99.99999999999% sure you should overturn the call, why arent you?

 

This is a bad analysis because it’s not what I remember it feeling like and I am never wrong

 

Gonna take a long time to get over this one.

 

The year I fell in love with this team and ceased to feel joy forevermore.

 

To clarify:

Now it’s not going to be like I remember this umps name and will hold a grudge against this man forever like I do some *cough*SAM HOLBROOK YOU BASTARD *cough* but if we end up missing the playoffs or a higher seed, I’m not leaving it out of the question.

 

It sucks, but I fully expect the Braves to win the NL East anyway
