how does that mischaracterizes the essence of the point you were making

 

I can't tell what's funnier: someone thinking that a movie with a bunch of A-listers couldn't possibly have a smaller role for someone like Andre Braugher, or someone backing that up by claiming a deleted scene in an MCU movie makes someone an A-lister.

 

small role, sure. people were mentioning names like adam sandler and buscemi. following that with dan stevens ... like, cmon lol

I also didn't say katherine langford is an a-lister lol but if you don't think she has more pull, especially with younger people, than andre braugher and dan stevens, you are absolutely fooling yourself to an insane degree. yes, I know her scene was cut. if you were gonna clown on my post, jaeden martell would have been a much more effective route for you lol.

 

Idk, that Beauty and the Beast remake made 1.2 billion dollars and Stevens is second billed. That seems much bigger to me than a cut scene in a bigger movie.

 

fair enough. i doubt most people have much awareness stevens played the role considering he was behind cgi all the time but that's a good point. again, sure, I could see smaller actors in bit roles, like edi patterson in the first. when people were mentioning names like sandman and buscemi at first, it seemed obvious that wasn't the conversation being had though. it's fine.

 

I was just dropping Braugher as a character actor who I’d love to see shine in a film like this.

(Goddamn he was great on Homicide. That show needs to be on streaming...)

 

Knives out famously popular among “young people”! No one is going to see a movie because katherine langford is in it.

 

it made over 300m and netflix just paid more than that to secure its sequels. it’s famously popular among anyone with a pulse lol.

 

Of the people that saw knives out way way more know who Andre Braugher is than katherine langford

 

she has 18.8 million followers on instagram lol. the next closest name mentioned here is actually braugher, with 1. again, you are a fool if you think she didn’t bring some people out to this movie lol

braugher is a much better actor. it’s fine. i want him to get more work. i don’t think people are necessarily in 2021 on a name recognition level with him outside of “oh that’s captain holt, rad.” we’re at the point where people are getting cast as the leads of netflix movie franchises because of instagram followings. it’s unfortunate but it absolutely matters.

 

I had to search who KL was. Obviously I know of her though not by name

 

Dan Stevens now is about, if not more, famous than Ana de Armas was in 2018. Kinda crazy how dumb this conversation has gotten, but not that surprising considering it was kicked off with "Andre Braugher and Dan Stevens aren't famous enough to be in Knives Out 2"

 

Dan stevens would be great tho, he's not that obscure either, he was THE BEAST after all

He’s on that list of people who can do comedy and drama equally well and keep you guessing about how he’s playing a certain moment, that would be really fun to see.

I’m also hoping for a few timeless legends being involved since we had Christopher Plummer and Frank Oz the first time around. Maybe they could get Julie Andrews since she has a relationship with Netflix already.

 

i think it would be fun if some of the same cast appeared but playing completely different roles.

either way, i have complete faith in whoever is cast that i'm gonna love whatever Rian puts out.

Reporting on the film has said they're going to be filming this June in Greece so it would appear to at least be partially set there.
