got J&J vax yesterday. super grateful but side effects are obliterating me right now

...good thing the cardinals have a day game today, gonna use this as an excuse to lay around and watch baseball

 

did you have COVID prior? my wife got J&J in february because she's a teacher, and she was completely out of commission for like 2 days. she had COVID at christmas, somehow I never got it, but i've heard it's effecting people who have had COVID worse than those who didn't. who knows if it's true, but it's trending in that direction from friends who are giving post-shot reports.

 

so officially, no. but unofficially the first full week of march 2020 I was staying in a house with a person who had spent the prior week in nyc and was sick while i was staying there, and another who was sick while i was staying there and had had lots of very close contact with someone who'd just been in seattle (and was also sick at the time). then i felt a little out of it/weird for a few days after so definitely very mild covid if i got it. so i suspect that i was exposed/got it super early. also have had a couple of definite exposures to covid since then (despite being super careful) and haven't gotten it, which has made me wonder about antibodies.

so long story short: probably but who the hell knows.

 

Congrats on getting the vaccine! I wish I had taken off the day after my second shot, but baseball hadn't resumed at that point anyways, so it wouldn't have been as good of a laying in bed all day type of day.

I think Cincy will likely be better this year, and given the rest of the division will be in contention for to be near the top of the NL Central, but yeah not gonna be putting up these numbers every day.

 

I swear every time there's a double header or a game goes into extra innings, I completely forget for a moment about the new rules from last year. Man, they're awful.

I had COVID in early February, and got my 1st Pfizer shot end of March. I was totally expecting for it to knock me out of commission for a weekend, because everything I read said that people who have had COVID (especially recently) experience worse/more severe symptoms after the first shot...I felt absolutely nothing at all after my shot.

Hoping Shot 2 doesn't destroy me.
