Can we talk about how hard the bass tone goes on this album?

As someone who never really got into Citizen, this album honestly impressed the shit out of me, wasn’t expecting this. Great stuff!

I really enjoyed on first lesson, though the songs seemed almost blended together for me and the sound a bit stagnant. Regardless, it'll get a lot more listens and I'm sure a revolving opinion.

I've spun this like 8 times since I got my vinyl and it gets better with every listen. I love it, thank you Cuz!

Never got into Citizen before despite being a fan of a lot of similar bands, but checked out the opener and wowwwwww it absolutely slaps, rest of the album is also just so infectious with that bass, can't believe I've slept on this! Sadly looks like all the cooler vinyl variants are gone now but will defo have to pick it up soon

Popping in to say I’ve also never been much of a fan until now but holy shit this album is so great. I love the Bloc Party vibes mixed with the pop sensibilities and Mat’s vocals are awesome here. I think the sequencing is really good too, there’s nothing (including Fight Beat) that I want to skip.

Aside from a few Brockhampton spins, this record has been in constant rotation for me all weekend. It sounds much better with some good over-the-ear headphones too.

This is my favorite album of theirs, and I’ve liked everything before. Good job guys.

I love this album. It's pretty much the album I hoped As You Please was going to be.

Probably a Livestream planned. Would love a b-sides EP or something though!

Where that album felt a few songs too long...I wish this one was a little longer.

Might just have listened to the singles too much.

I definitely overplayed the singles a little bit and wish I just waited for this whole thing to drop.

  20. A few days in, still digging this. Stylistically exactly where they should be right now, building on their sonic palette but not straying too far from their bread and butter. I think the production honestly helps a lot with that. It’s not a night and day difference from their Studio 4 sessions so there’s still a lot of familiarity with how you’d expect a Ciz record to sound, but a closer listen highlights that fresh coat of paint. This is much tighter and punchier than they’ve sounded before, and that really helps accentuate the newer sounds here

  21. I think there’s a good chance there’s more new music to come since they sat on releasing this for a year

Yea this is easily my favorite from them. I like some of there older stuff but on the whole a lot of that stuff always felt kind of sluggish to me. This new one just feels a lot more fun, which isn’t to say a band has to sound energetic or fun to be have a great album but I just think they sound better like this. The nods to spoon, bloc party, and strokes are also more in my wheelhouse so that might be a why I enjoy it more too

Preorder came today! Can't wait to spin this.

But yeah, they're definitely sitting on more music. They did this record themselves, so would imagine that there's at least an EP, if not, a whole record that they have ready (sans mix/master)

  24. I’ve given up on anticipating my record haha. It’ll come when it comes, just happy to now know I’ll actually like the music on it when it gets here. It updated to “shipping label created” today so I guess we’re getting somewhere

I liked this but I didn't love it. I'll have to give it more listens. I don't listen to Citizen a ton though so I think I'm just more not used to their style of music.
