There's like 7+ major platforms to watch anything you can think of, why would they come back?

Kevin Smith is the one who said that? lol. I have a big soft spot for that dork, but yeah, nah.

I've actually thought about something in this general ballpark for a while now. Like, a niche, curated library/rental place for comic books, movies, books, etc., with maybe a coffee shop element. Some community stuff, too, like art classes, D&D, maybe even a nonprofit element built in for kids in the area to get involved in. I very much so do not have it in me to create something like that myself, lol, but if I found the right partners & area/community, I'd totally try to build something like that.

  3. If avatar the last airbender is an A, the legend of korra is maybe a C. Midway through the second season and it just does not measure up.

There’s is a very popular record store in Denver I live so close to now called Twist & Shout, and while they don’t “rent” they do have an extensive old vhs/dvd/Blu-ray collection on display/for sale like a rental store is and I got nostalgic feelings. But I mostly visit for the vinyl collection which might be the best in the city.

I was surprised that they didn't mention that you could rent videogames from Blockbuster, which was the best part by far

I remember Blockbuster was only 2 day rental, but our local grocery chain had 5 day rentals. Six year old me wasn’t gona beat Cool Spot in just 2 days

Blockbuster’s rental prices for games towards the end was pretty ridiculous too iirc.

Also, those covers of “All Star” and “Kiss Me” in that are two of the worst covers I’ve ever heard.

It's worth noting that nobody actually liked Blockbuster itself. We liked video stores. Blockbuster cannibalized them and turned them into corporate facelessness. The fact that we've all transferred our nostalgia to the thing that killed what we're nostalgic for is kinda ironic.

The documentary also talked about being “clean” and not having a porn section, but the ones in my town did. I remember vividly being a middle school horn dog with friends and debating running in to see nudity. And then later in the documentary there’s the random Ellen segment where someone from her show pretends to work at the and asks the old couple if they're looking for the adult section.

Bad Trip had some pretty damn funny pranks. Died laughing at Tiffany Haddish hanging under the department of corrections bus and having that guy be her "accomplice"

Deadly Illusions is the WORST movie I've seen in a long time. If you see it on Netflix, steer clear.

Didn't Blockbuster have some program where you could keep rented games as long as you wanted and return them for no late fee? (Probably movies too but I only remember using it for games lol)

I don’t think I ever actually rented from a blockbuster. Instant replay, iggle video and family video were my rental places.
