Watching As Above, So Below for the first time. It ain’t great....but it ain’t as bad as it’s reviews make it out to be, either.

I didn’t love it but it seems to be a love it or hate it deal for most.

I thought as above so below was entertaining. It was fine. Not everything needs to be a masterpiece and I didn't regret watching it

so yeah I enjoyed Aliens more than the first film. the atmospheric and genuine horror is rarely replicated in the sequels, but it lives up to the original. the more 80s action with horror elements is what I’m into currently and it fits the genre perfectly. and the more maternal side of Ripley being enough out in the extended version is something I didn’t know I needed.

not sure what I’m watching tonight. Maybe Hunter Hunter?

Aliens is amazing. Both feel like totally different movies doing amazing things with the same premise essentially and I love them equally.

  10. Haven't watched any horror recently, but I did just start Resident Evil 7. I've been playing through the series for the first time; look up my posts in the Video Game thread if you're interested in following along.

I'm kind of in the mood to rewatch Hill House, actually; also I'm hoping Bly Manor gets the same DVD treatment with extended Director's Cuts.

Just watched As Above, So Below since there was some talk of it. It was... Fine. I thought The Descent was much much more effective. It seemed like a lot of the things they hinted at early on should have played a part in the last act, but none of it did. There were some effective things hinted at with the cult, evil door, "path for another day" that were all just forgotten. They through out story telling for jump scares and a pointless mcguffin that I still don't understand.

I can watch the first 3 RE films and feel alright but they have years between. I don’t think I’ll ever revisit the later ones which I find abysmal.

  19. Did anyone in here see the Empty Man? There was an article going around Twitter last night about how it was completely mis-marketed as a teen creepypasta flick. Apparently it's over two hours long and like, full of twists. Wondering if it's worth the watch.

It was definitely more interesting then the marketing, but I found it boring as hell and at least an hour too long
