  5. Zidane running off good young players like Reguilon and Odegaard is weird

In Odegaard’s case, there’s yet to be a moment where you choose him over Modric or Kroos.

But I think Zidane is better at managing Big Egos than he is at managing new talent. In all of his very prestigious time managing Madrid, only Asensio and Lucas Vasquez have really developed from young talents. Injuries have forced his hand this season on the front line...and they’ve all not really done much.

Reguilon is a bit more baffling though.

Great read for anyone interested in good youth academies in general. We have SO many talented youngsters it’s ridiculous.

  9. I'm fine with that tbh. We have him for cheap right now. Getting him next year would likely require a bigger investment.

as good as he could be, I don't think he's worth half of what he would cost to Spurs.

  12. I feel safe saying he won't be in Madrid next year though

He probably will be and Zidane will still probably not use him, I'm sure that'll go well

but yeah, investment this year is fine, but he'll be more expensive next season and probably wouldn't be worth the cost. It was nice to see him back in a Spurs kit scoring goals though

My old PT got called up to play for Montserrat in the World Cup qualifiers. That’s cool.

Atleti's Moussa Dembele collapsed in training today. Fortunately, he walked away fine after training but he was down for like 10 minutes receiving treatment. Scary.

The rumored Barcelona kit for next season is legitimately the most hideous thing I've ever seen.

Tonight Norway play Gibraltar and if Haaland plays I wonder how many he will score. Could be a rugby score.

The importance of good refereeing positioning

Am I crazy, or have English refs also been getting worse their positioning? Multiple times this season United have lost possession or have had a good chance squandered around the box because the ref is standing where the player receiving the ball is supposed to be running into.

I know this happens to every team a handful of teams naturally, but this is the first season i’ve consciously picked up on how brain dead these guys are out on the pitch.

I feel like it probably doesn't help with how fast the game moves now (insert joke about United's attacking here). In a refs defense, they could be stood in a relatively fine position, but one through ball or reverse pass or cross field switch, and they're suddenly in the way or having to sprint to get into a better position.
