But would he still have had a main character-level story arc if the movie wasn't four hours long? Like if Snyder had seen through the movie back in 2017 and they hadn't re-shot it with Whedon, there's no way it would've been any longer than, like, 2.5 hours. Without that additional 90 minutes, does Cyborg still have as much of an arc? Maybe. Maybe not. It's hard to say what would and wouldn't have been cut in hindsight.

It is good that Cyborg gets more of a focus in this version though because the character/actor deserved more of a focus.

Wait, without having to click on these garbage videos, how did Snyder diss the fandom menace? that sounds awesome

I will say the Kevin Costner VO was completely antithetical to how Snyder portrayed Pa Kent in MoS. He would never tell Clark to show his real identity to people. He was a grumpy asshole that was mad Clark didn’t let a school bus full of kids drown in order to hide himself.

  6. I've always seen it as Pa Kent not wanting him to reveal himself at such a young age out fear for what would happen to him. He knew Clark was destined for bigger things and told him as much.

  7. This was definitely a huge improvement over the 2017 movie. More connective tissue and cohesiveness overall. I liked some of Danny Elfman's work on JL, but Holkenborg's work here is much more pronounced (which I like) and feels like it had more effort put into it. Some of needle drops didn't land, though.

Off the top list of things I enjoyed:

    -more Vic
    -more grumpy Alfred
-more scenes of the team interacting
    -Flash scene with Iris
    -ancient battle flashback
-expanded scene of Clark and Lois at the farm (As a fan of MoS and BvS, this was a nice moment)
-Bruce's "faith" line, which really makes his arc from BvS come full circle.

    The bad:

-Steppenwolf is an actual character in this cut, but he's still boring garbage.
-the VFX are still not as great as I wish they were
-Knightmare scene in the epilogue was a weird one made unbearable by the Joker inclusion. Leto is awful.

  12. While I did like the score overall, this got on my nerves too. Felt like a musical trope that was used in old action movies to make something feel more dramatic. I can't think of specific examples, but I feel like it used to be a thing.

Thoughts at the halfway mark: Aspect ratio doesn’t work; most of the framing/cinematography is terrible. The set pieces and character (outside the heroes) designs are awful. Lighting sucks. Some CGI still looked like it was in the beginning stages. Just really ugly to look at it. His needle drops are even worse. And a lot of terrible writing/dialogue takes, especially the Wonder Woman and Cyborg’s dad voiceovers.

Solo is truly one of the worst movies I've ever seen

BvS is very, very badddddd but still better than both Whedon's cut and Solo

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah these needle drops.... I am always down to hear some Nick Cave but playing one of his saddest songs while... Lois Lane gets a coffee in slow motion is the kind of shit that's just begging to get dunked on

this is a minor complaint but Victor is demonstrating some truly terrible ball security during that football scene
