the way the bridge kicks in right when you don't expect it to, and it works so perfectly, is pretty damn amazing

Not to rank albums, but where would you rank this album in their discography?

 

Probably mid tier? I think virgin will be impossible to dethrone for me, but it’s probably more consistent than black mile, even if the highs on there are higher (with the possible exception of telepath)

 

I am depressed this is still 6 weeks away.

 

Hmm. Given Virgin is your favorite will have to take that into consideration of your opinion. Virgin has a special place in my heart, but I certainly don't think it's their best work.

Hahaha this is fair. This is much more a traditional followup to black mile than anything else they’ve ever done. I think you in particular with really enjoy it

If it's Black Mile meets some Ripping guitars, IKHTS, and Hope Vibes. I'm all in.

 

Honestly this isn’t too far off at parts, and other parts are very the mistake

 

Well, at least I'll love the first parts lol.

I just didn't love how boppy and "Movin' Out" The Mistake sounded.

Definitely in the top half, for me.

 

this isnt to say its necessarily boppy, lol, just that I think it operates in a similar lane in terms of tempo and vibe. but, tbf, I also feel like bedhead has mistake vibes, so people might disagree

 

I'd find it very hard to place The Mistake over Maze, Gold, Moth, Lead, Alien, Grocery, Silence.

 

Oh hmm. Yeah I would NEVER place bedhead and the mistake in the same realm, so that's reassuring lol.
