This is super good. I see what you mean as the bridge from CNJ. Thanks for the recommendation!

Also, still loving Earth is a Black Hole. New Emotion and Yellowbelly might be my favorites.

I can't stop listening to this album, snippets of it are in my head all day. Favorite tracks are wear u down and the title track.

Honestly, every track (aside from the intro, whatever) is a fucking monster. I could hear any one of them on KROQ or a station brave enough to play them. Hooks the size of Olympus.

I think Yellowbelly, New Emotion, Wear You Down and Wasting Time would easily be radio hits. I haven't seen any chart info on EIABH, but that chorus is so titanic, I hope they get a push.

It's kind of amazing the hot streak that Epitaph is on. I know they're never really gone or off, but between this, the GucciHighwaters record that's big on TikTok and Architects going #1 multiple spots worldwide, it's gotta feel pretty good there right now. God bless that label.

It's kind of amazing to me that the prevailing feeling among the majority of Chorus folks is pro "audience exposure." No bad vibes about a band trying to get on the radio and make money. That's what makes it a career, and it's how they keep playing music. I definitely still understand sellout labeling, but ultimately, as an adult, I'm a lot more open to it because I know bands have to sell records (or merch, or streams) or ultimately they can't play anymore because they can't support themselves.

It's definitely got more radio friendly songs, but their first album had tons of songs with great hooks as well. It was just a bit heavier and raw on the production side of things.

Epitaph has always had a pretty good run with successful bands for the most part.

We should probably create a new thread for this project.

Anyways, I love this track. This project feels like the continuation of Chrome Neon Jesus that I’ve been craving. Kam is the best!

Stoned, Alone should have been a monster single.

I feel like as you grow older, you have to be realistic about the music industry. I get why Teenage Wrist made a pivot once Kam left and even though I wished for a sound closer to CNJ - I’m sure the pivot they’ve made is a solid business choice. Black Hole has some really solid radio-friendly jams and I sincerely hope they get bigger so they can sustain and have a solid career. Marshall and Ant deserve it.

I agree on both actually. I think these heavenward singles are better than almost anything off that album tbh. I’m pretty sure Marshall played guitar on this one too

Yup! He also co-wrote/co-produced/mixed this new single too. Stoked the dudes are on good terms and working together in some capacity.

I would personally say these Heavenward singles are on par with CNJ. I love the material equally.

Can’t wait for the Heavenward full length to eventually drop!

Yea this album has grown on me quite a bit. Wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but it’s a lot of fun. I’m excited for Heavenward too! Kam and Marshall both have such good ears for melody in this genre so the more the merrier

So what’s the deal with Teenage Wrist vs Heavenward? Like what members are in both (besides Kam). What was the bad blood?

Would love to see a reunion in the future.

No bad blood at all actually. I think kam didn’t want to tour as much

I was always curious as to why Kam dipped but that would make sense since he has a wife and a career with graphic design anyways.

I always assumed it was creative due to the change of sound - good to know that it wasn’t that!

I can’t get into Heavenward but it’s certainly not bad music.

Those who hopped on early to the JEW companions with this record nailed it. It’s just good rock energy that’s very hooky and a bit left field.

Stella is the best closer I’ve heard all year.

Super disappointed they did not play Stella. But they sounded great.
