    The spiciest meme

I've already written them off due to Josh so not gonna listen to the album regardless of how good or bad it is, but the writing was already on the walls when one of the reasons they said they delayed it was because they wanted to work on the cover art and it ended up being what it is lol

  2. I’ve seen a few people say this is the best record they’ve heard in years so lmao

Haven’t listened to it. Don’t plan on it

Last Chance and Resentment are jams. The rest is pretty meh. Probably going to only listen on maybe some gym playlists, that's kind of a lot of their listening has come from the past few years.

That Teenage Wrist record is right next to Architects for my AOTY at the moment.

Wasn’t even going to listen to this due to the Josh stuff, coupled with general disinterest in this band for the last several years, but the overwhelming negativity toward it peaked my curiosity and I gave in.

It’s not good, but it doesn’t come off as any worse than the last album to me. They’ve been on a downward trajectory for years and this just continues that. Outside of “FYM”, which is an absolute nightmare piece of garbage, any of these songs feel like they could’ve been on the last album. That, of course, is not a compliment.

The nicest thing I can say about this album is that if I heard “Resentment” on a theoretical modern rock radio station I don’t listen to, I probably wouldn’t change the station. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it, either.

Also, this is beside the point, but, wasn’t Jeremy straight edge for most of their career? Felt like he was writing about alcohol a bunch here.

yeah I caught the alcohol thing too. I could’ve sworn he was, but also kinda hinted at drinking in an interview as well so ‍I’m not sure

    Composer, but never composed.

so interested to see the first week numbers on this one, given how toxic the narrative about this band is right now in every way.

  9. I am not going to say more than I am about to type for reasons that have to do with personal safety: but this comparison is not relevant to the ADTR allegations. TW is no better.

I've been doom scrolling like no other on ADTR's social media and I can't think of another album thats gotten this much hate across major social media platforms the way this new one has gotten.

    1) yes, kick the bassist out
    2) it took them 5 years to put this out? Woof.

I like Mindreader and Resentment but that’s pretty much it. Last Chance To Dance could have been cool if the lyrical content wasn’t so fucking cringe. The rest of the record is pretty awful but this band’s best days have been long behind them for a while now anyways.

For my money, this band has never had good lyrics. Every album is full of cringe opinions or meaningless catchphrases. I enjoyed CC because it had some serious bangers, but lost interest after. This one doesn't do it for me.

For everything going on with this band and all hate this is getting it still managed to debut at 15 on the billboard 200. The new Chevelle album debuted at number 9 tho so…

Some threads for fantastic albums barely get any attention/1-3 pages max meanwhile this thread for an album from a band with a literal abuser in it keeps getting bumped. (Yes I know, I’m part of the problem here but still, can we stop?)

Album is absolutely a let down. I think the fact it took so long to come out added to that incredibly. (but still would have been disappointed in it even if it was released sooner). Resentment is the only song I truly like (minus the "welcome to the eye of tiger" line). Last Dance is a decent heavy song (the sole one), the harsh vocals def sound good but lyrically its bottom tier. High Diving, FYM, and bloodsucker should have never made it on this. Overall, just a mess of an album, lyrically just hollow, cringy and has no actual feeling in it.

I’m tired of this album, I wanna talk about Stone Cold Steve Austin instead.

Man, how great were the pops of the Attitude era?

The heat and the crowd noise of the Austin/Rock matches was unreal. I know everyone is nostalgic for what was cool as a kid. But that really was the pinnacle.
