The fact that dating apps have gone downhill doesn’t help with dating. You can’t search “normally” anymore. It’s all recommended and even if you can set “preferences” none of that shows up in hour feed anyway.

 

Came across a guy on bumble that looks A LOT like a guy I associated with like 6 or 7 years ago. Name, age, school, some other things match. I guess he took up smoking cigs because that’s listed as “regularly”, yet he gave me shit when I said I smoked before? Whatevs. I swiped left. AWKWARD.

 

I have a zoom date tonight and I’m actually excited for it, this is new

 

I don’t think I’ve ever had that much fun on a first date in person or not. We talked for 5 hours but it didn’t feel like it at all

Thank you! It’s a really fun feeling, hasn’t happened in years. We’ve got another date Friday. Not sure if it’s video or in person, I want to meet her but I’ve been super cautious with covid.

 

Anybody have any good Covid date night ideas? Me and my bf have been dating since the pandemic started pretty much so we have barely been able to do "normal" things so I'm trying to think of things that are low-key but a lil different from the usual

 

Walking may sound like barely a date lol but 2 or 3 times a week we either hike local trails in woods or by the beach, sometimes with headphones on (syncing an album or playlist you both enjoy is fun) others just conversations, fresh air n stuff.


I'm just so grateful I haven't had to go on a double date in a year

 

Had another 5 hour Zoom date on Friday and we’re planning to do something outside next weekend weather permitting. I’m starting to really like her

 

Tips on how to stop loving someone romantically so you can move forward as friends?

 

I have 2 in-person first dates tomorrow... back to back, kind of. Record store in the afternoon with one and dinner with the other at night. met one on tinder and the other on bumble. Definitely nervous!

EDIT: FIRST dates! ahhh, am i crazy for doing this? It's been so long since i've been on a first date.

I did this once and it was pretty stressful haha I wasn’t able to really enjoy the first one because I was worried about being late for the second one. That said have fun!

 

Yeah, i'm kind of feeling that! It just sort of happened. First one is at 1pm and second is at 6:30p, so i feel like i should be okay on time? Worst case scenario, if the first one is going really well and goes over time i could potentially cancel the second one. Shitty, i know, but might have to be my play.

Getting more anxiety as i get closer to it, but that's classic behavior from me. par for the course. Just gonna be casual and relaxed. Should be fine... no big deal... (can you tell i'm saying this to calm myself down? lmao)

 

Haha oh yeah totally get it. Sounds like that should be a good window and if you do need to cancel the second because the first is going so well that’s a good problem to have!

Things are going really well with the person I’ve been talking to. We had a day-long in person date last Saturday and then I wound up going to her place for dinner this past week, we just get along so well. She’s currently on a work trip but I think I’m going to bring up being exclusive when she gets home.

 

Both dates went well. I really had a great time on the first date. She knows i'm into vinyl and bought a record on the date. I also got into biking this past year and this morning she texted me she bought a bike... soooo, looks like i might have a new biking buddy!

 

We both agreed we aren’t seeing anyone else and don’t want to, this is really exciting! She’s so much fun to spend time with.

 

I sort of have an "Am I the asshole?" Thought where like my sense of humor is very self-deprecating and dry/sarcastic. Me and my friends tease each other and it's no big deal. But my bf seems more sensitive to it. Sometimes he doesn't seem to mind and plays along, and other times he gets upset or offended. Then I get frustrated because I feel like I can't have my sense of humor. But then I also think of that viral clip of kourtney kardashian that's used as an example of gaslighting where she tells khloe that she just won't make those jokes with her anymore because she doesn't take them the right way and khloe is like "I don't think it's a joke I think it's just rude." Idk I can't find the clip rn. But when I first saw the clip it seemed like something I would say, and the fact that it's used as an example of gaslighting has me going hmmm. I guess maybe me and my bf need to explore what the line is of affectionate teasing and being rude, but I still don't think I was rude today so idk.

 

She came to my place this weekend and we hung out Friday night-this morning. Talked about the bf/gf thing. She’s so much fun, haven’t liked anyone this much in a long time

 

I just watched some poor bastard set up giant Jenga outside for him and his girlfriend to play only for her to lose her shit over god knows what and now he’s slowly packing it back up

looks like she certainly runs the show at their apartment. I could hear her criticizing how he was BBQing and I’m about 40 yards away. What a nice lady she seems to be!
