It’s random that scorpio turned heel on darby and not Cody, the latter would’ve been a much more obvious and better storyline.

 

I like Scorpio in ring. But keep him miles away from a mic.

 

If you hold off Mox, you'd have to hold off Kenny, no? He went through the same match. I do agree that I would like a little more selling week to week -- like Darby not being taped up after his huge bump in his match is just dumb oversight, imo -- but Mox being on the show is fine by me. What don't you like about Scorpio Sky?

 

Yeeaahh. That last time he was on commentary was rough.

 

He worked in SCU because Daniels and Kaz could carry the talking. Not sure how he’s going to work out on his own.

I don’t want it to sound like I’m just shitting on AEW. Just noticed some things. They do a lot more things right than they do wrong. And they’re usually good at adjusting when something isn’t working or doesn’t make sense. Personally, I still prefer NXT but it’s a lot closer than it was a year ago.

I was going to complain about the Darby/Scorpio thing too but at least it seems like that’s setting up a feud. I’m not a Darby fan but it kind of felt like he was just the plot device for Sting to do something. Which would be ok if he wasn’t the TNT champion. They showed on his name graphic that it was only his 3rd defense in 121 days. Cody defended almost every week. He doesn’t have to defend it that much but it seemed like he won and then they put the title on hold. I was going to say what’s the point in hyping up the ladder match if Scorpio was going to get a one off match and disappear but luckily it seems like it might be more

 

I actually thought the Butcher and Blade + Hardy Clan thing made sense, since Butcher and Blade have been hired guns since they entered AEW (they first were being paid off by MJF).

Speaking of MJF -- pretty crazy, check out this interview he did back in November when Jericho was trying to get him to join the Inner Circle.

 

Darby as Champ has sucked and I definitely agree that his whole story with sting would've been better had the belt not been tied up in it. That's a good point for sure. Darby is basically sting in that he doesn't need a belt at all to really be interesting, he's pretty over just on his own.

In an unprecedented move, President Joe Biden has invited AEW Professional Wrestler Eddie Kingston to handle the 2022 State of the Union Address. The grappling star who can be seen Wednesday night's on TNT's AEW Dynamite is expected to discuss foreign policy, Biden's tax plan, and his love for --and I quote-- "this business that I would die for."

 

This is where I’m at with NXT at the moment. They still put out quality every week, I just struggle to find the motivation to watch it without a crowd these days. I didn’t mind for the longest time, but the past 2/3 months have definitely dragged.

There are a few things they’re doing right, but the way it’s booking at the moment is similar to the main rosters lack of focus. It’s not anywhere near as bad as some of the stuff on Raw or SD!, but there’s room for improvement.

 

I am very intrigued by the expansion of Imperium though. If they add Thatcher and Dain, they could be the most dominant group on the brand. If they get a few more to help WALTER over here, they could dominate both brands simultaneously. That’s pretty cool IMO. Especially if they push Barthel as a temporary leader in the states. Could really work.
