Supposedly Barcelona made offers for Aguero, Garcia, and Alaba this morning as they're all free transfers in the summer. Aguero is apparently willing to take a pay cut and is also very much a "keep Messi home" play, but I don't hate it if we get 1-2 good seasons out of him. Alaba would be a miracle.

Is this the year Ronaldo comes to MLS? Or back to Sporting? It seems like a lot of Italian media/players are making him the fall guy for the loss yesterday.

Not sure he wants to come to the US after spending a year avoiding being summoned to court for the charges that are so often overlooked with him.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I doubt he goes to MLS, but yeah, I feel like he's got to go. If the choice is between him and Dybala, you pick Dybala right now.

I cannot for the life of me work out why this tournament isn't made so that teams who qualify for Europe are not entered into it the next year. Would allow some new clubs a shot at silverware and would become a trophy with an identity finally.

Yeah. Should only be teams that aren’t in Europe and the winner gets a Europa League/2 spot or something. Guarantees new winners, makes it exciting.

I suppose they will look at it as removing the big teams makes it less attractive for viewers. Buy like no one who supports a big club gives a fuck about.

Gotta admire Southampton's "let's not respect City" tactics. And they are duly punished. Foden has torn them to shreds.

That Liverpool counter was the funniest fucking thing ever. Mane’s header :crylaugh:

I think it reflects poorly on Leipzig and Nagelsman how comfortable the first 120 minutes of this tie have been. We should have put it to bed now.

Apparently, Mbappe just became the youngest player in the Champions League history to reach 25 goals in the competition. It's crazy that Haaland could beat that record this season if Dortmund advance far enough.

Why do players dive? Oh because things like this don't get called unless they do.

The lack of top quality striker is killing them. They could exploit the wide space we gave them in the second match against us but they can’t do that tonight as ye are defending quite deep.

  12. PSG really trying to let Barca make this comeback happen and Barca not taking advantage of it

This is besides your point, but I think it reflects poorly on Liverpool that this has not been put to bed by now. Gulacsi and Upamecano have been good, but yeah, Liverpool should be finishing some of these chances.

Defensively though, they're suicidal. It's possible to be brave and positive without being that open. Given our shocking last three months, they've made it too easy for us to create good chances on the counter attack. Too many 3v3 or 4v4 opportunities; they're lucky we've wasted a number of them.

Yeah it should be over by now. As it is, a goal for them changes it.

Ah yeah they’re just going balls out for it and it’s costing them.

I will say this is a great game. It’s like a game of fifa. There’s no midfield whatsoever

Glad to hear that Barca showed some spirit. I was in an extended doctor's appointment the whole time. Didn't expect much, but would've been gutted had I missed the extraordinary. Still baffles me that Madrid thought Courtois was a better keeper than Keylor.

Also: that Messi goal. Wooooooooof. He doesn't hit them from there ever.

Under Klopp we've been in thirteen two-legged knockout ties in Europe. We've gone through in twelve of them. Unreal record.

Just got round to watching a few highlights from yesterday - legit one of the worst decisions I've ever seen on that Foden non-penalty.

Guess the league wants to actively encourage diving now then. Fair enough.

As much as I love early kick offs and having a full night of football, I'll never stop forgetting about them and having to rush to get shit done before the game starts

Edit - I love VAR and it's very consistent and very cool rules. I take it all back.
