i just made a 25 song Jimmy Eat World playlist for work tomorrow that im pretty excited to listen to. I went through every album (Clarity forward, i honestly dont feel super strongly about Static) and chose 4 songs from each album i wanted to put on the playlist, and one song from SOMST. This is what i came up with. I gave probably 10 minutes time in putting everything in an order i think would flow decently. gimme some suggestions if you think anything should be moved around!!

    1. A Praise Chorus
    2. Damage
    3. A Sunday
    4. Always Be
    5. Polaris

    9. Just Watch The Fireworks
    10. If You Dont, Dont
    11. For Me This Is Heaven
    12. My Sundown
    13. Kill
    14. Believe In What You Want
    15. Lean
    16. Heart Is Hard To Find
    17. Chase This Light
    18. Littlething
    19. How'd You Have Me?
    20. Coffee & Cigarettes

Oh yeah, "Big Cars" sounds like shit. Weirdly muffled. It's weird, because some of the Trombino sessions songs sound quite good and others do not.

B-sides you can link to on here. There used to be a b-sides thing on AP.net (is that still a thing here?), and that's where I downloaded pretty much all of my JEW b-sides. If they aren't available for purchase anywhere, then you can share them. I think that's always been the policy.

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Note that some b-sides that you might not think are available to purchase may actually still be somewhere on iTunes or something so I guess it's worth checking that first.

Yeah, the more recent they are, the easier they are to find. Pretty sure you can't buy the Trombino sessions stuff anywhere though.

Depends where you are in the world. In the UK, Shame and When I Want were on the standard version of Futures, and Shame (Demo) and When I Want (Demo) were on the deluxe version of Futures. Those demo versions are the same as what's on the Trombino Sessions except for the fact that they are a little louder and have undergone some mastering I guess. But the mix is identical. Also all the Bleed American B-sides can be found on the deluxe reissue of that album, and some of the older B-sides from Static and Clarity eras can be found as bonus tracks on the repressed versions of those albums that came out in the late 2010s or something (can't remember exactly but I got them). This would include Sweetness (Demo) and some others though most will be available on the Singles CD. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure but I reckon some or all of those are still available on iTunes in the UK as they were at some point at the very least.

In fact I think the UK has tended to get a much better deal with JEW B-sides in the past. For example, we got Anais (Demo) and Anais (Studio), downloadable on iTunes, and the B-sides to Chase This Light of course.

And Sparkle was released on iTunes as a single, and that is I think just a mastered version of the demo that's on the Trombino Sessions. In fact, now that I think of it, perhaps this is the reason that the Tromino Sessions on the jimmyeatworldonline.com archive is missing some songs... because the hoster of that site knew that the songs could be purchased legally.

Anyway, I've rambled enough. I guess if it's sharing by PM then go nuts, but something like uploading and linking directly on this forum might be a bit of a grey area when some or most of the songs can be purchased in some parts of the world. The band has said that they have no problem with people sharing songs with their friends as long as when you hear something you like, you then buy it to support the artist.

To be safe, I'll stick to PM'ing people. If you're interested in the B-sides and I have yet to contact you, like this and I'll message it right away. God that sounded like a terrible likewhore facebook post hahaha.

I'm just glad we can all come together and discuss the greatness of Jimmy Eat World. Plus the addition of new fans is always nice.

I was actually thinking the same thing earlier. Jimmy Eat World has some great fans and I'm happy to see more people start listening to them and end up liking them. Its great. Great fans make a great band and vice versa.

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

Now that I've listened to the six "essential" albums, I'm deciding on which one I'm going to let soak in first.

    Jumping back to CTL again.

As someone who loves nineties Emo bands like Mineral and Sunny Day Real Estate.... I forgot how much I really do like Static Prevails

Listened to Chase This Light in full last night after listening to Invented during the day. Jimmy Eat World is such a great band to just sit back and do nothing but listen. Such great chill music.

I need to give it more attention. My problem is I just never think "oh I'll listen to Static Prevails right now"... Yet I live for 90s Emo.

That's a really random thought haha... But it made me imagine JEW doing it and that would be awesome. "Honestly?" Or "I'll See You When We're Both Not So Emotional" would be cool

I absolutely freaking love Chase This Light.

So much so that it breaks my heart that it sat dormant in my iTunes for 6-7 years before I sold my MacBook and lost a huge chunk of my music library.

I have the same problem, but I put it on for my drive to work today. I mean it's definitely a very very different JEW but really stands up well next to some of the more "classic" nineties emo bands. I just wish I could have seen one of the tours back in the day with them and like Christie Front Drive or Boys Life. Would have been sick

It's incredible from start to finish.

That record came out the same year I started college and listened to it endlessly. What a great year for music 2007 was.

I listened to Invented again last night, most of the way through. Some better songs on that album then I remember, "Coffee and Cigarettes" is a solid jam.

It's way too late, or much too early Prestigious

When Mineral got back together, Chris and Jeremy talked in an interview about how Jim Adkins got in contact with them to do a reunion show opening up for JEW (This was before Mineral had decided to do the reunion tour). I think the idea for the show was to get a bunch of bands that JEW toured with in the past and do a small festival sort of deal. They talked about how whole idea fell through. The potential lineup for that show is unreal.
