My cousin is coming up to Fresno to pick up his sister and take her back to Coachella for the weekend since that's where all my family lives and he asked if I wanted to join.

I am debating it so hard but like i has some plans to get with a friend to baseball this weekend since last game of the season and $1 tickets.

 

I really miss Aaliyah. I cut my hair with swoop bangs bc of her and mirrored her fashion.

 

I hate the Internet sometimes. People are more concerned with comparing Aaliyah and Beyoncé instead of celebrating her life and music.

 

Saying she wasn't talented is just plain wrong

I'm pretty hype for the movie. It looks like it's actually going to be good.

 

I hope AC is good. There has legit never been a good video game movie. The best is probably the first Tomb Raider, and that's just so-so. The crown of greatest ever is just waiting there to be taken, fairly easily.

 

Speaking of this has anyone here seen Kingsglaive yet and is it good or awful

 

Would Wreck It Ralph count?

 

I don't count it because it's not an adaptation of an actual game. If it did count, it's the best by a country mile.

 

Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, and The Last of Us better turn out good

There's Uncharted/TLOU movies happening?!

 

I do wonder if part of the issue is studios thinking very poorly of gamers. That they don't want story or good writing or acting or anything but explosions and fight scenes.

 

Yeah... That's true. Honestly, everything I've seen has looked fantastic. I have faith since Ubisoft worked so closely on it. Tbh I love the AC universe so much that I have a feeling I'd love this movie even if it sucked hardcore. But we'll see.

I actually bought The Spirits Within a while back and haven't watched it yet, I remember that being ok but popular opinion was generally negative

 

I totally forgot those were happening. And now there's a Rainbow Six movie coming, I think. Or was it The Division? It was some Tom Clancy/Ubi thing. They're going hard on the movies.

 

It's in like 2 theaters in DFW, one in Dallas. I'm gonna try and see it soon. I think it reaches physical/digital release in October? I'm not sure.

I never saw The Spirits Within, but yeah I remember the reviews being very negative. Advent Children was like, fans liked it and everyone else hated it I think.

 

Now that games are more cinematic, I would think movies based on then would improve in quality. But at the same time it seems unnecessary to make a movie out of a story that's already been told very well as a game.

Very good point. I was thinking about how I'd see a Bioshock movie, but I enjoy the Bioshock stories enough as is.

 

Uncharted and TLOU have been in limbo for years, I'm not sure they're definitely happening at this point. Maisie Williams was set to play Ellie.

Yeah I liked Advent Children too and I wasn't even that big on FFVII. It was a good time.

 

It might just be me but I think the story would benefit from adaptation. Mainly because the fact that the game is first person means the main character is basically a blank slate

 

The first Resident Evil movie was alright. I thought Warcraft was pretty fun.
