Yep, I still love all of their records. This band are 5/5 for me.

On my second listen through & it’s really tough for me enjoy the songs with the way they’re mixed.

I loved Commit the first time I heard it, but then the second time I listened I realized it sounded like a Fireworks song, so that's why I loved it so much.

The mix is really what killed the album for me. I would love some diversity beyond “Let’s go to Will”.

It definitely would be nice for them to go with somebody other than Will for the next project.

Really enjoying this more than I thought I would. The sequencing makes the previously released singles fit better.

The production on this is much more reminiscent of Menzingers After the Party than SPIN, tbh. I like it.

Teddy bringing the Fireworks influence over not a bad thing!

Yeah the production style on this really doesn’t remind me of Spin at all. Spin was way more synth forward, this emphasizes the driving rhythm section more.

The only song on here that really reminds me of Spin is "Can't Wait Forever" the rest doesn't bring Spin to mind much at all.

I glanced briefly at the wiki of this band and seems like they’ve undergone quite a few lineup changes. I discovered this band with Spin and really really enjoy that record, and now this new one as well.

so random question - which older stuff is the best and how different is the sound / style? Where should I start?

Charmer is the best pre-spin, just start there and go backward

charmer is probably their best, and its kinda like a blend of the more power pop stuff of these records with emo pop bands like charmer and macseal. a bit more midtempo, and they had another vocalist too. if you like this and spin, probably work backwards. their self titled is the other one people will probably recommend, and that's a much looser more pop punk version of the band

Awesome thanks so much - will check out Charmer this week and go from there. I’m quite impressed with this one, honestly. Sounds like a great spring time record. I love Brianna’s vocal style, and the almost alternating of lead vocals from track to track gives it a nice variety. Excited for this one to grow on me.

Also agreed on whoever mentioned that Lemon Mouth guitars are Hyperview-esque. Pennsylvania scene represent!!

Love this. Love this band. I don't really think it sounds too much like spin.

Their first three records(s/t, two worlds, charmer) are great, the self-titled a bit of a cult classic. You ever watch Twin Peaks? Lots of their lyrics of their older stuff is inspired by that show, and feels a bit darker than this record and spin. Charmer is my favorite but that early stuff is all ace. Even Spirit Desire and older EPs like that are worth checking out if you dig the moody stuff.

Only listened to this a few times through, but I understand what some are saying about this feeling like a watered down Spin. The album is good, but I don't know if it's a good Tigers Jaw album. I need more time with it though--I felt the same when Spin first came out and now that's one of my favorites.
