That last sentence is so spot on. I don't follow LaLiga but only in the CL I have seen about a dozen situations where he should have been sent off.

It just feels like every league has some players/teams that won't get called for anything. Like Salah's diving, Kane's dangerous "challenges" on CBs, etc. But Casemiro has the most high profile offenses, 100%.

I only watch my own team often enough to notice dubious patterns I think, but for us, we get players sent off for very borderline calls that NEVER go the other way. Mane's elbow, Fernandes stud challenge, etc all went unpunished, whilst we get things like Luiz sent off for basically nothing and Nketiah shown a red in circumstances we never get the opposite way.

The other one that sticks out is Real Madrid never getting players sent off. Pretty sure they would have to actually decapitate someone for certain refs to produce a red.

After today’s pathetic collapse I’ve accepted Wednesday will be playing league one football next year. There’ll be some good sides down there next year if the likes of Hull, Sunderland and Ipswich stay down. Would love to say I’m looking forward to not being a laughing stock every weekend but I can’t even be sure of that.

I am by no means an expert on English football and generally these kind of discussions are rather stupid. But with that said, I feel like historically Everton and Arsenal are both big clubs with no big difference between them.
But if you take the recent performances (like the last 20-30 years) then Arsenal is easily the bigger club.

yeah to be honest I sort of phrased that badly. I actually like Everton and historically they are a massive club. It was more that those fans were acting like Everton were a super club and Arsenal were some
middling club like Sheffield United or something. Definitely could have phrased it better though.

To be fair Arsenal and Everton are both like top ~5 big clubs in my mind. United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Villa, Newcastle maybe? That’s not in order but taking English football as a whole that would be my top 6 biggest clubs in England.

Tbf Chelsea are pretty huge too. I’d put them over Newcastle for sure.

The new LAG second kit is far too sexy for how horrible they’re going to be.

Can't deny Saint-Maximin is a joy to watch. Hopefully Fulham beat Palace tommorow.

Who had the worse officiating performance today?

    West Brom - Brighton
    Wales - England

If Brighton go down, it might be the least deserved relegation of all time. They play well every week but just can’t score any of their chances.

When there are teams like Crystal Palace and Newcastle stinking up the league, it’s a shame to see Brighton in such trouble.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Lee Mason's performance today was staggering. Just chalked a Brighton goal off because he can't use a whistle...

Random thought I had earlier that might be relevant here or it might not, I’m not aware of users locations, just something I was thinking about earlier and am very curious about.

It’s really for people that got into the sport later on in life, or those who perhaps don’t live near their team:

How easy was it to get into the rivalries? Like, it’s one thing perhaps learning to dislike Arsenal as a Spurs fan from Canada, for instance, but what about a rivalry like United and Leeds? Where it hasn’t really been a competitive rivalry for a while and may not have been during the duration of being a fan.

I can’t believe Wales are going to shithouse their way to a grand slam despite being the second worst team in the championship

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

Hadn’t Everton played all their football in the top flight?

Not quite. They have spent four seasons in the second division, and so have spent the overall longest time in the top flight, a record 117 seasons.

  21. Do English journos not get tired of writing the same "Harry Kane needs to leave Spurs" column every week of every season?

Xhaka kicking Iheanacho hoping to give away a free kick because Tielemans had gone past him is peak comedy.
