This rocks really hard. Way more immediate than the last album

it’s the exact opposite for me, unfortunately. this is good but hasn’t quite hit me on a deeper level yet, whereas LBB is in a tossup with AOM for my fav album by the band and was immediately in love with it.

I do agree LBB was more immediate. Especially considering how crazy the opener is

Second half is so strong. I hope further listens will get me on board with the first half.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Love how everyone in here is considering LBB the last album and not TBHU because it barely existed being sequestered off on Bandcamp.

And a whole “subscriber-only” LP after that!

Yeah, a lot of people and publications seem to be unaware of Life Is Only One Event

I am a subscriber and I loved Life is Only One Event (TBHU wasn’t as impressive for me), but it only makes sense to me to discuss their proper studio albums separately.

The Room It Was is an incredible closer, the ending is so good

I really liked the two bandcamp albums and LBB but I still think this is the best of em after spending a week with it

So far this is actually my least favorite of the three they've put out in the last year, but it's still pretty darn good.

About halfway through this and I can comfortably say this is my favorite since Life Without Sound, this is exactly the sound I want from them

This is good, I don't like it as much as The Black Hole Understands but fuck they're so god damn consistent. I think LBB is the only thing they've done that I don't like.

also I had absolutely no idea that TBHU was Bandcamp only, I thought that was a "full" album and that this one wasn't haha

this is growing on me more with each listen. still can’t help but feel there’s something off about the vocals in a lot of these songs. I also revisited TBHU and LIOO yesterday and liked the former more than I thought.

There’s obviously some recency bias here but I can see this sliding into my top 3 alongside Here and Nowhere Else and Life Without Sound

just pressed play on this. its the 69th new album I've heard this year. Dylan sounds great already

This clicked with me over the weekend. I think it will fit in a solid third position behind Attack on Memory and Life Without Sound.

only on track three but I don't wanna turn it off so it's an improvement over last building burning. feels like what I expected the follow up to here and nowhere else to sound like

I absolutely fucking love LBB and do not understand the hate it gets. had a friend tell me it was the most emo CN record and that never really occurred to me before but, especially after revisiting last week, he def has a point lol. it is without a doubt their most aggressive release, at the very least. the worst thing I can say about it is that the production is lacking. I’m on probably listen 6 of this new record and I still don’t think I’m totally sold on it yet, some of the melodies just are falling kind of flat for me and there’s a lethargy to some of the performances that worked for the bandcamp albums but is kind of giving me pause here. still think it’s a good record but as of right now I think it’s probably the weakest of their records since AOM.

I don't think they're as good at aggressive stuff as the lighter stuff, and I also don't really like noise rock much lol

I love all their records but I would kill for them to another heavy noisy one like AoM or LBB
