I mean, miro has been there for a few months and been on the show a handful of times. They won’t always have something like the exalted one right away. Don’t think I’m being an apologist by saying who knows, if he’s losing matches to janela or brandon by the end of the year than I’ll likely have a much different take.

 

He's been entertaining every time he's wrestled and looked a star squashing a few people. They just need to pull the trigger and have him turn on Kip soon. I assume something is going to happen after Revolution

 

Rusev/Miro is great at everything he does. BUT I can't think of one of his matches that has really stood out. Cena at Mania maybe? But that was probably more for the entrance.

 

His best chance at becoming a top tier guy was as a monster heel in WWE before losing to Cena (I think) at Mania. But even then, monster heels have a shelf life. And his current shtick is so lame. He's most interesting because he's obviously talented and it's clear he was being held back from utilizing his talent full tilt (I'm talking Rusev Day era), but if I'm being frank, I think the capacity of his talent is that of an upper-midcard guy who you can rely on to carry something like the IC title while injecting that scene with some humor, fun, and reliable matches. But as one of the top 3 stars in a company? I don't buy it, and I think his AEW run is proving that.

 

Yeah he’ll never be a top 3 guy but he could absolutely be a world heavyweight champion

 

Yeah, but so can Jinder Mahal and Sheamus.

 

that's what I'm saying - Rusev is better than those guys he can have a short world heavy weight title run

think of all the terrible gimmicks Brodie Lee was stuck with until he got a good one and he was one of the top stars in the world

same can be done for Miro I think.

 

Yep, he's basically never had a nuanced story that he carried for months since I've been back watching...he's always been a caricature of a person whether as a heel or face. Which, by the way, you absolutely need as a change of pace...but not as your long-term top guy

I always thought that Rusev would've been perfect in the Kane role of "Guy who has default first feud with new face champion".

 

If AEW finally did something weird with the FTW belt, a babyface rusev would be an awesome opponent of Brian Cage

 

Miro could easily be in the Lance Archer spot where he’s constantly at or around the main event and could conceivably win the title but never really going to be the top guy.

both those guys would be great in the TNT title spot too.

 

Kane feels like a good reference point. Absurd starting point; a variety of hilarious ups and downs in the character, but still ultimately larger than life figure in it all.

But he's not grounded in a normal way like say, a Moxley or a Stone Cold is.
