Thats a lot of money and an absurd amount of commitment to a player who hasn't been in the league 3+ years. You better hope he doesn't suck in like 4 years

 

Pay him even if he “sucks” in a four years. He’s one of the best things in baseball. Total. In years.

 

0% chance he sucks in four years. the only way this deal goes south is through injuries. even then, a player like Tulo still had a great career

 

He's automatically the face of your franchise just in his on the field presence alone, regardless of how well he performs. Solid move by the Padres, and well-earned by Tatis.

 

This compilation of Alec Bohm is super pleasing to watch. I didn't really see any of him last season but I'm excited to watch him this year.

Little fangraphs snippet on him is cool: "Rather than adjust his approach to hit for more power, Bohm leaned into his natural feel for contact and graduated projected as a 3B/1B version of Michael Brantley."
