Why would you wish them to continue being terrible

It’s the first album of theirs I’ve loved since American Idiot. They did something different and I commend them for that. They’re fun songs. Sure, they’re not all great, but I’d take FOAM over any other post-AI album, easily. I still listen to it a ton.

 

If by different you mean completely boring and uninspired, sure. It’s baffling to listen to this and listen to 21st Century and think these half baked songs are better.

I just genuinely do not see anything in this album.

 

I’d argue that FOAM is their most inspired album since AI. And even if 21st Century is better, that’s still over 10 years old so my argument that FOAM is their best album in 10 years still checks out. I’ll die on this hill and I don’t even care. Green Day has borderline sucked the last 10 years because they never drift far from their typical sound. FOAM was such a breath of fresh air and a lot of fun. Since it came out, it’s probably become my most listened to Green Day album since Nimrod or Warning.

 

Revolution Radio is still better than this. The trilogy was experimental and sucked. This really doesn’t feel like experimental, it just feels half baked

 

Doesn’t feel half baked to me. The trilogy is half baked. They should have focused on the best songs and made just one good album instead of 3 bad/not very good ones. I couldn’t even get through all 3 of them.

FOAM is a top 5 Green Day album and I will never apologize! Haha

Yup. Dookie, nimrod, warning, American idiot, FOAM. Those are the only Green Day albums I ever listen to.

EDIT: I guess I listen to songs off of Insomniac too. Honestly I pretty much only listen to FOAM, AI, and International Superhits.

 

Curious just how many people care so much about FOAM that they insist on posting about how bad it is any chance they get. Just a wee bit curious...

I like FOAM enough, and can be a little blind when it comes to Green Day, but I find it odd too. Like gun to your head, someone says “give me a Green Day album post-AI to listen to, if I think it’s solid you live”, and you pick FOAM of all of the choices?
