I really, really, really cannot wait for this.

Black Mile was my runaway AOTY in 2017 and I’ve only grown to love it more since. It’s definitely in the running for my favorite record of all time, period.

Also, I’d wager MO is just about the best live band I’ve ever seen.

It would be SHOCKING if anyone was featured on a song besides small things like secret harmonies.

but I would gladly take a Julien Baker and Andy Hull Better Oblivion EP at some point.

i'd say phoebe bridgers but she was featured on kid cudi's recent album and cudi did the whole kids see ghosts with kanye and we all know MO stans 50c so that's definitely out of the question.

I also can vouch that their Patreon is great, even at the $5 tier that I’m on. The early vinyl drops and discount to the store makes it almost pay for itself. Be sure to go back and download all the monthly Simple Math bsides, there are some serious gems in there!

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

if my understanding is right, they've been drip feeding us Sinful Math song by song with the Patreon demos, and the official release will just be a compilation of those demos for the public (alongside a Simple Math reissue maybe?)

I could be wrong, but yeah, the songs are fucking fantastic

    I do not exist.

They’re three household names that have influenced music for generations. Colour Revolt were a small band who never got the attention they deserved.

Old people can appreciate Colour Revolt too.

my original understanding was it was an alt version of simple math that they wanted to do back in that era. Similar to cope/hope. They’ve been putting out unreleased songs from that era on their Patreon since last Summer that are supposedly part of sinful math so it may actually be more of a new collection of songs/ demos. Either way it’s dropping this year at some point as part of the ten year anniversary of simple math!

I've found it incredibly interesting that as Manchester has evolved I've been right there enjoying their growth. For a lot of bands, I'm looking at you Mumford, and a few others, when they get older they tend to try to "modernize" and it just loses every bit of what made them good in the first place.

I first got into them when they were still in that indie rock era and loved every bit of the first three albums, then COPE came out and I loved that straightforward sound, then HOPE dropped and suddenly I loved acoustic piano music?

With Black Mile, I immediately loved Maze, Gold, Silence, but it took me a while to get into the "overproduction" in some songs compared to their earlier years and then eventually Black Mile was my favorite record. (Still don't enjoy The Wolf or The Mistake as much as a lot of other people) but so far in the band's entire history, they've rarely put out anything I didn't absolutely LOVE. (Allentown and their Don't Speak cover come to mind on stuff that wasn't my favorite) Hoping that continues with this record, despite the weird inspiration mix on that playlist.

I trust they won't let me down.....I couldn't handle the heartbreak of not adoring a MO record lol. My buddy who LOVES Yellowcard and Newfoundglory and has tattoos from them still has at least one album he flat out ignores and having a 4-year cycle of a dud would be pretty sad. Not gonna happen!

I was wrong about the 'woo' in the mistake and it floors me that you remember that this many years later lol.

Still think it's the weakest on the record. But it's a great record! So the weak ones are still good.

I remember having this conversation with you at the HOB Orlando show back in 2017... Weakest!? WEAKEST!?!?

    weakest?

    I disagree, and that’s okay, I guess.
