The bridge in Out of the Woods is what sold me on Taylor

out of the woods is amazing but will benefit from better production.

 

the bridge may be the best lyrical moment on the album. I’d listen to the argument.

 

IN THE CLEAR YET GOOD

 

My (apparently unpopular) take is that her vocals are pretty stellar on Fearless. Just listened to self-titled, though, and she definitely sounds a lot less powerful on that one. Excited to hear what the new versions of those songs sound like.

 

Her voice has this youthful urgency and passion in fearless that's so great

 

OOTW is my favorite song on 1989, but I can kind of understand why someone wouldn’t like it. But thinking it’s worse than Bad Blood? Thinking any Taylor song is worse than Bad Blood? I’m gonna need some time to wrap my mind around that

 

I definitely like her voice on fearless but I like it more now.

Out of the Woods is good. What I meant is a lot of people seem to say Bad Blood is in the weaker tier of the album but fun enough to be valuable. Despite the more substantial subject matter that's pretty much my take on OOTW, too. I just think it's a little too Jack and while he has songs (both his own and that he's produced) that I like better than others, OOTW is one of the only cases where I dare say he's too Jack for his own good on it.

and don't kill me but I love the bridge but the monsters turned out to be just trees is a little clunky for me

 

This specific performance of OOTW is when it really clicked for me, and I can't help but think of this performance every time I listen to the song now haha.

OOTW has always been a favorite of mine. Something about it reminds me of Celine Dion - It’s All Coming Back To Me Now and so it felt nostalgic from the start. One of the ways I feel like 1989 just was incredibly successful

That happened to me but deleting and redownloading worked (at least for now). I also just re-downloaded the individual song instead of pre saving the album, so that could be part of it

 

I kind of love that Taylor’s version of “Love Story” is so similar and unchanged from the original. It was already her version. Whilst it still sucks that she even has to do this, she seems happy and determined, and I’m excited to hear all of these new (old) tracks.
