  1. Heeeeeell yes. Like this one way more than Earth, probably more than Silverspoon even

I think I like Spoon the most but this is very solid too.

I do hope we get more straight shoegaze on the record since this is obviously a pivot compared to CNJ but it’s good stuff so I can’t complain too much.

    This is the good shit.

I like a fair bit of chrome neon Jesus, but the singles so far sounds like prime era JEW and I am pumped.

This is shaping up to be real nice. Love all three singles so far.

New song is alright but I would have never guessed that this was Teenage Wrist without knowing. Aside from the (incredible) Silverspoon, it doesn’t really sound like them in my opinion. At least when you compare it to CNJ and the Counting Flies EP

I’m still looking forward to the record but I do wish there was just a little more of a continuation of the sound from their debut. Oh well.. there’s still Heavenward.

Also, I realize I sound like a broken record but still lol

Me too, reminds me of late-era Transit, which I always thought was unfairly maligned (musically speaking). Some JEW vibes too, still.

    Really excited for this album.

I think I’d be a lot more bummed out in the change of direction if Heavenward wasn’t a thing. I like the new song

  12. Song’s okay. Feel like it’ll fit better into the context of the record

This is SPOT on. I read this comment right before listening to it - and didn't think that your description could be a thing, but it 100% is.

    Diggin' it.

Give me all the 90s 3EB/JEW worship mixed with that fuzz please. Even with the obvious influences all these songs still sound like Teenage Wrist to me.

"Yellowbelly" might be my favorite single from this so far, I can't stop playing it

So I found a :wet: of this. Not gonna say much but its a somewhat welcome change in sound from the last record. The shoegazier sound they had on CNJ and the last EP is missed for sure. Guitar tones are still pretty satisfying overall though imo. I've only listened once while working so I wasn't 100% invested in my listen either. True test will be playing it loud in the car tomorrow.

Really stoked for this to come out tonight. I initially thought I wasn’t as into the new direction but I keep coming back to them, aside from maybe the title track. Silverspoon is still my fav but can’t wait to hear more. Production has been great as well on the singles

Also does anyone know when or if we’re getting more Heavenward?

  21. Haven’t gone back to any of the singles like I did with Silverspoon. Sounds like this might not wind up being totally for me. Would be a cool surprise to totally dig it though, and at least I know kind what to expect now!
