If you'd read my posts you'd know I'm actually advocating that they should have held the announcement longer but ok!

 

Who cares when they announced really? Everyone kinda knew this album was done and coming and was delayed cause of COVID, so them letting us know the date earlier than later makes that much of a difference that we should complain about it every time they release a song?

 

I feel like, you’re going to overplay the songs to the point they aren’t fresh anymore anyways, what’s the difference if that happens October to February versus in March?

 

Hey I would've been fine with them holding the announcement as long as possible. Things are crazy right now and for lots of bands (Tigers Jaw being one of them) it's incredibly difficult to drop a record when you can't then tour on it and make some money that way. This isn't a Weezer situation where the band is so gigantic they could drop a record any time and be fine. I selfishly want the record ASAP but I get that it's a tricky situation deciding when it's financially feasible to release a record with this pandemic going on. I just personally think a long rollout doesn't actually help promote the record as well as a shorter one. That's just my opinion though.

 

5 month rollouts suck and should cease to exist

Also I hope they're just releasing the most uninteresting songs from this album as singles because out of the songs released Cats Cradle and Hesitation are pretty good but the other 2 are big snoozers imo

 

Lots of people care about when albums get announced and how long rollouts are. Both related to this record and many others.

Also if you don't want to see people complain about long rollouts, maybe don't come to a forum where people are discussing album releases? Idk what to tell you lol

 

Idk I don't think being upset by the unnecessarily long rollout is a bad take, covid or no covid. Just because the virus delayed the album doesn't mean they need to drag it out for 5 months. If anything, everyone's increased screen time makes releases like this more forgettable.

I just want Adam back

 

Yeah I still love this band but without Adam they've lost that special touch and everything is just starting to sound the same. I think they still write good music but it's just not as good

 

I suppose it's personal preference (in my case I like having more new shit to listen to on albums) but I get why they're trying to keep fans engaged over a longer period of time. I thought 5-month rollouts were just done with and then the pandemic happened.

 

I came here to discuss the new song that was released and hoped people would be more understanding of this type of stuff because of the state the world is in, I expressed my disappointment without direct quoting anyone, you quoted me.

 

Their best album is without Adam, so I don't mind him doing his own thing.

Five month rollouts suck, but it's fine for me at least. I would imagine most fans are not on a forum and don't really care about the long timeframe. There may be a period of holidays in between, but it keeps their name out there and not forgotten about after the release with the lack of touring. I just want the album now, tho.

 

It's a great song and the album will be great!

 

The chorus from Lemon Mouth is stuck in my head frequently.

I do kinda think the weekend wipes the slate clean a little too soon lol

 

For video games tho it’s perfect

 

first listen of this and it’s better than I expected. Opening song is 100% a rewrite of never saw it coming but it’s a cool way to open the record. It still mostly operates in the same lane as spin, not super risky for them, but at least the hooks are stronger imo. This is all one listen tho so take this, as you should all my opinions, with a grain of salt

 

As a lover of spin, count me in.

 

This is the best new one so far IMO.

 

Damn I think it's easily the worst haha

 

Holding out from hearing this one; I've only heard Cat's Cradle and Lemon Mouth thus far

 

New Detroit is my fuggin favorite of all the new ones. Such a banger.
