Incomplete list, but this is the bulk of it.

 

So I think I got screwed over on discogs. I bought two records from this guy but bought them/paid him on PayPal when he asked me to instead of through discogs to “save him on discogs fees and he would give me a deal on shipping”. I sent the money back at the end of January and since then it has been radio silent/ not returning any of my messages. He has 4.5 star rating so I figured he was trustworthy but apparently not. I’m pretty pissed. I tried to file a claim on PayPal but got denied and I can’t do anything through discogs bc I didn’t actually order through them. 70 bucks down the drain.

 

That blows hard, sorry people are shitty. I've also never been asked to pay the way you did, and now I never will!

 

You should report them on Discogs just for asking you to buy outside of Discogs. I'm pretty sure it's against policy.

Also, have you tried filing a claim through your credit card company or bank? You can tell the bank it's a fraudulent charge and they will reimburse you the money most likely.

 

Yep to the above. Call the number on the back of the card that’s connected to PayPal and file a claim with the bank, let them know you never received the merchandise. They may ask when you expected to get the record because they like to leave a grace period for shipping, but as long as it’s been like two weeks since you paid they should have no issues reimbursing you!

 

I got burned in the early days of eBay that way, definitely call the bank and file a fraud claim.

Even selling on Discogs, I have people message me being like "I'll pay you more if you do this outside of Discogs". Not really a good reason to do it, especially since the fees aren't horrible.

Been making a conscious effort to match streams with vinyl spins this year. Feel like it’ll help make for a more accurate Spotify Wrapped since I listen to vinyl so much more these days, and it also feels good to put up the extra numbers for the artists. Had to put a little sticky note on my turntable to remind me tho haha

Very tempted to make another order and grab their exclusive Nirvana and Foo Fighters vinyls, with Academy Is Almost Here as the free one. Urghhh I need to learn self control!

 

Did this earlier in the week. Copped Thank U Next, new Foo Fighters, and got a puzzle for free

Yes I have the same mindset. Do you ever just stream it on mute while listening to the vinyl? Feels weird but also not haha.
