Top 5 favorite Mets CF of the past 10 years:

    5. Jason Pridie
    4. Colin Cowgill
    3. Angel Pagan
    2. Kirk Nieuwenhuis
    1. Brandon Nimmo

Mets really know how to get centerfielders with cool names

Did Jake Marisnick play any CF for the Mets in 2020 or did he only play the corner positions?

The funny thing about all these free agents, i don't think any of them are "go nuts and give them anything they want" type players. Someone like Jackie Bradley, who's gonna be the 4th outfield/defensive replacement type guy... you have a price in mind and i think thats fair.

The big issue is next season i don't see anyone like that either. Resign noah, conforro, lindor... and improve bullpen

Yeah he played CF. Often would be put there later in the game for defense

I know this isn’t the topic at hand, but this got me thinking of the parade of Cubs outfielders from around his time like Felix Pie and the Patterson brothers.

So many promises of “five tools”.

Yeah I feel like Boras definitely misread JBJ’s market. With that being said it’s Boras so I suspect Dombrowski ends up giving him a 4 year $60 million dollar contract.

Sorry, sorry but seriously I'm happy for y'all that have teams that'll compete.

For me personally, it's hard for me to get excited for this season and really the past few seasons in general

I think Springer is/was worth what he got - and he's the only one of the big 3 from this offseason I truly am disappointed in them missing out on. McCann is a great addition even more so now seeing what it would have cost for Realmuto.

The only hiccup in Springer, which a friend of mine pointed out which was an interesting bit, was that if you sign Springer at 31 years old for a 5 or 6 year deal, you could risk him needing to move to a corner in 3-4 years, which could be a hinderance to Conforto especially if you also give him the 5 or 6 year extension as well.

I don't particularly love to not make moves based on what could happen in 'years to come', and idk if that even remotely played a role in deciding not to match the Toronto offer, but, yeah I am actively disappointed that he won't be wearing a Mets uniform this season.
