Onto Lydia today. I remember lumping them in with like Anberlin, who I did not like. A few tracks in and I like it.

I'll be honest, a lot of the time I didn't know who I was listening to, but im pretty sure Ghostface and Method Man stood out. Favourite tracks from my first listen were Shame, Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothing To F' With and C.R.E.A.M.

Once the month is over I'll be going back and digging in to these in more depth. Def need to spend more time with this.

Least favorite of my list so far, but it isn't necessarily bad. The first few tracks were solid and then it all just kinda blended together. I could see myself zoning out to it, I suppose.

Yeah that's the legendary Bernard Purdie on the drums. I actually don't know the rest of the band well, except I know Rudy Stevenson is on guitar and he collaborated with her a bunch in her peak period, writing songs for her like "Day and Night" on that album.

I really should look into their careers more, given how much I love their playing on that record.

I love the first two-thirds of this album; it kind of stalls out in the last third.

I think I'll listen to some other Nina records today too, as bonuses.

My next favorite is High Priestess of Soul, whose opening track is one of my all time top 15-20 songs ever. She has so many great albums in that '64-'67 window.

My biggest memory of Lydia is being disappointed as a teenager bc I thought there would be a woman in the band based on the name.

People have listened to other Wu Tang albums without hearing that one? Why would they do that

I grew up in a superrrrrrr cult-y Lutheran environment so I was not exposed to like... a LOT of culturally relevant things until I was grown.

I've become a Nebraska guy over the past few months. Might be my favorite of his now.
