Just started the album. Getting some American Football vibes on first thing. You can tell she's evolved and gotten much more comfortable as a solo artist. Off to a fantastic start

"Over Those Hills" reminds me a LOT of "Don't Know How To Keep Loving You" by Julia Jacklin

Planned on giving this one spin this morning, then revisiting it later. Had to play it again immediately after. Such a gorgeous, gripping album.

If you’d asked me 2+ years ago, this is a lot closer to what I would’ve thought a Hayley Williams solo album would sound like. While I think I prefer the grand sweep of PFA, this was a lovely 6am listen. The title instrumental playing as the dawn light came in is a moment I’m happy I had.

“KYRH” and “Inordinary” really hit me, and the blunt lyrics throughout feels like it must have been a real unburdening... if you equate lack of poetic flourish with honesty, this may be her most honest record. The sonic candy she made with her voice (those ethereal harmonies at the end of “First Thing To Go”, the guitar/bass/vocal unison on “Over Those Hills”) was super effective for me.

Immediately like this and I couldn't really get into Petals for Armor, which I know a lot of people loved. Still only a few songs in.

yeah it's having the same effect on me (pfa ended up being a minor disappointment in my book but that's fine i'm still glad she made it!!!)

I will need to spend more time with this as Petals for Armor was more immediate for me. There's a few standouts on this like Trigger, Over Those Hills, Ordinary, and Find Me Here. Probably will have to be in the right head space.

I feel very alone because I just never could get into After Laughter or her previous solo album and I know how highly regarded they are, especially AL.

I’m only 4 songs into this but I’m liking it a lot!

I had to be in a very specific mood in order to listen to PFA. In fact, I still haven't listened to the entire album. Only the first couple EPs I think. This new album so far (half way through) is definitely proving to be more of an anytime kinda thing, which I'm stoked about. My Limb and Trigger are both top notch.

EDIT: I just realized that this is the first album I've listened to front to back so far this year, if the Jimmy Eat World livestreams don't count, haha
