Put up days 3 and 4 today! I’m hoping to be back on track tomorrow- I’m doing SOPHIE and Springsteen together so my list stays accurate.

 

I always think of it as a lyric written in character. It might not be true (he's got at least 1 other clunker that's kind of... off, at least that I know of) but in the absence of an explanation it helps me enjoy the song more.

Which is fair to say! I went into this album only really knowing "Mexican Home" so it kinda threw me off a bit.

Kind of a weird starting point for him, but if you liked it, definitely recommend his self-titled debut!

 

Just please admit the piano in the title track is absolutely disastrous.

Hard to imagine music much sexier than “Do I Move You” and “In the Dark”. And then she pivots and hits operatic levels of drama on “My Man’s Gone Now”. Just a massive, massive achievement

Whenever I stop listening to the new Hayley record, I'm gonna dive into Dashboard Confessional's Alter the Ending.

 

Just one of the biggest knockout vocal performances I’ve ever heard on an album. She hits so many moods and emotional notes, all while sounding fabulous. And the band is wonderful, too!
