HBO Max has the heavy hitters from years ago, and I could probably name fifteen of them off the top of my head without pause. Hulu has some great newer content. Netflix occasionally gets good content. I'm hesitant to say it sucks, because I want to say it does, but I actively seek out the good stuff there. I know there's loads of crap but there's also stuff I genuinely loved, like Queens Gambit, Unorthodox, Da 5 Bloods, etc...

  8. I'm ok with the Netflix and HBO Max interfaces for the most part. Navigating HBO Max is slow and doesn't feel fluid, though.

HBO Max on Roku is the worst experience I've ever had in a streaming platform in terms of UI performance. Insanely slow to load and scroll around. ...but, putting that aside, the UX itself is still better than Prime. Way easier to find things.

Re: good Hulu stuff, In My Skin is a quick British 5 episode season that I thought was really good. It’s on the heavier side but still a quick watch

Mubi has an unreal good library that’s constantly changing and curating. Probably close to as good as Criterion Channel. I watched some Edward Yang, Leos Carax, and Bennett Miller there recently, you can throw a dart and see something interesting

Idk if everyone already knows it but justwatch.com (or their app) is perfect for checking which movies/shows are on which service

The fact that NONE of them have a feature where I can see EVERY movie or TV show alphabetically is super annoying. I'm sure it's to mask how much content is actually available, but it sucks.

I don’t understand Netflix having a show that came out 2 years ago under “recently added”

  21. 9 times out of 10, I will just download what I want to watch and put it on my Plex, which is super easy to navigate and browse through. Especially since it's 100% catered to me, haha.

Oh, haha. Guess I've never really noticed that. I honestly don't even browse much through Netflix becasuse I have so much in my queue to watch and also it usually recommends me new shows/movies right at the top that I just add straight to my queue.

  23. HBO Max absolutely has this.

Hulu has the A-Z feature and you can find everything Netflix has too but they're still both very frustrating to get through
