Rami Malek might be a bad actor. I don’t really call many actors “bad” but he might be in an Eddie Redmayne/Jared Leto place where he commits to some bold choices/roles that just don’t work. It’s not that they aren’t talented or good with the right directors/roles, but they seem to actively make a lot of bad decisions

 

i’m reserving judgement until bond but, yeah, i haven’t been impressed with him in anything

the closest he’s been to good deserves more respect for the writing and directing shaping his performance than his actual performance

 

Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury is one of the absolute worst things I have seen in recent memory, completely horrendous

 

there was no way Bohemian Rhapsody could be good because the rest of the band thought they were equally important to the narrative haha and wanted to use their version of Freddie

 

they gave a dude an oscar for lip syncing for 70% of the movie

kubrick never got an oscar

Watch S4E7 of Mr. Robot and try to tell me again that Rami Malek is a bad actor

 

I don’t understand his movie choices, but yeah his work on Mr. Robot is some of favorite. What a good show.

 

Just need to echo that The Little Things was terrible.

Malek was good in Short Term 12. That’s all I can really add to the conversation.

 

Nothing wrong with his voice work in Bojack lol

 

I feel like he was made for Mr Robot and he fit his character in The Master very well.

 

His parts in The Master and Short Term 12 were tiny but they and a couple other early roles seemed like a promising path. Again it’s not that he’s not talented, it’s the choices he’s made in the last couple years in terms of roles and his acting decisions within those roles.

 

I think I've only ever seen him in a Video Game. Seemed good to me in that

I need to watch Mr. Robot again. Everyone kills it on that show, but yeah Malek is incredible in it. S4E7 is haunting.

 

Watching the “World’s Toughest Race: Eco Challenge” on Prime. Amazed at the people who can do these things. Love shows like this.
